product description
The Hyskore dual damper machine rest is a precision sighting tool that will provide maximum repeatability. Over 80% of all center fire rifle shots made in the U.S. Are made from guns in the .30 caliber range on down, therefore, this rest is designed to progressively absorb the recoil pulse from 5.56/.223 up to and including .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Winchester Magnum cartridges. The rest features surgically precise and user friendly windage and elevation controls. If you step back and take a look at the center fire rifles that are actually shot in this country you would find that 80% or more of the shots made are from rifles in the range of .223.5.56 up to and including the .300 Winchester and the .338 Winchester magnums. Guns larger than that are much more expensive to shoot and Generally speaking have recoil that discourages repetitive shooting. With that thought in mind we designed the dual damper rest to be able to progressively absorb the recoil pulse on the above mentioned

Questions about HYSKORE 1003639 Dual Damper Machine Rest
Q:
Is the actual hyskore #30275 dual damper machine rest, because i can't find any number other than amazon's # 1003639?
Answer: That the one I bought.Works ok .thought the adjustment would be a little better. trigger thing looks cheap but it works.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will the hyskore dual damper machine rest, od green accept magazine fed rifles such as the ar platform?
Answer: As far as I know it will. My son-in-law has an AR 15, and an AK 47, and he has used mine.
Q:
Does it come with the remote triggering or do you have to buy it separately
Answer: It comes with it...
Answer: Mine came with a couple of huge horse-syringes and some tubing filled with some sort of hydraulic oil. Push the plunger on the "trigger" syringe and the slave syringe pushes out and with its attached hardware activates the rifle's trigger. Works well with no vibration or movement of the rifle. Sorta like the hydraulic clutches on manual shift vehicles anymore.
Answer: It came with it.
Q:
What are Min/Max bench table widths this device will accomodate using the bench grip arms?
Answer: The rest with the arms fully retracted is approx. 28" long. With the arms fully extended, the rest grows by approx. 10", so a final length of approx. 38". Hopefully those are the dimensions you're looking for.
Answer: Those are not really "grips" on the damper ... they are "hooks" that hang over the front edge of the table when rotated downward. If the table is wood you can then secure the front and back of the damper frame to the table with screws. If the table is concrete, you can make a wood mount as outlined in the instructions or online.
Answer: It needs to be at least 12" by 28" and can be as big as you like, I hope this helps you.
Q:
can this be used for lever action's like Marlin 336, 1894 or 1895 or Henry's
Answer: It can, but the bench it would mount to would need to be modified to allow the swing of the lever, this bench rest is a very nice design, well made and very versital.
Q:
Does this have windage adjustment screw or only elevation screw?
Answer: Windage adjustment knobs also. Black knobs at the front of the rest.
Answer: Yes it has both windage and elevation adjustments.
Answer: Yes, i don't know if it was meant for that but you can adjust the windage with the rear stock compression screws.
Answer: Yes it has both vertical and windage adjustments
Answer: Yes, it has-----UP and Down, and Side to Side, plus a pressurized trigger mechanism. I built the wooden platform to mount it on, and bought very large C Clamps to tighten it to the tables at my shooting range. I used it to adjust my scopes as accurate as possible. The tables at my shooting range needed all the help I could give it.
Answer: Elevation only
Q:
Are the up/down and left/right screws adjustable to about 1/4 moa. In other words, can you make fine-aiming adjustments for a remote-trigger-pull?
Answer: Haven't tried it yet!
Q:
Will this work with a savage 338 lapua 110ba?
Answer: I pulled out the book that came with mine. On the front cover it says, ".30 caliber on down... up to and including .300 Winchester magnum and .338 Winchester magnum". I personally have not shot anything larger than .308, but can say that this rest works really well.

Answer: I can't help you Jesse. I don't have anything larger than a Rem 30-06.
Q:
Will this work with an AR15 with 30 round magazines
Answer: Not with a 30 round mag. Use a 10 or less. Also don’t load single rounds in an AR
Answer: i'm not sure it will work. I just bought a Ruger precision rimfire with a 15 round clip and the clip is far enough forward that it just barely clears the plate for the the forearm rest. other than that it works great with my other rifles.
Q:
Can tnis vise also be used for gunsmithing and cleaning my guns as well as sigbting them in?
Answer: No problem, it will work very well for both cleaning and sighting in
Answer: It can be used as a gunsmithing vise, but it is not the best tool for such. If you have it set up with a base and clamps for use on the range, it is unwieldy and clumsy for gunsmithing. One of the lighter vises with perhaps trays for holding tools and supplies is a better choice and probably not as expensive.
Answer: No, it is an intricate system... if I were you I would invest in a Tipton cleaning vise
Answer: I haven't set mine up yet but I have used my old lead sled to clean my rifles. Looks to me like this one will work for cleaning them.
Answer: I guess in theory yes but it wouldn't be very handy and adjustable. I'd not recommend it.
Answer: Yes, it is very versatile.
Answer: yes i us it as such
Q:
Is the strapping & syringe included with the shooting rest or do I need to order separately???
Answer: It is included, all you need is a bench to mount it to, like most thing you can improve on some of the mounting hardware but everything you need to use it, is in the box.
Q:
Its not pictures, but wanted to make sure it cam with the velcro straps that secure the rifle to the rest?
Answer: Yes it comes with Velcro straps
Answer: yes it does. I promise you this is the most impressive tool for sighting your gun in I've ever seen, worth every penny!!!
Answer: Yes it did
Q:
Will the hyskore dual damper accept a bullpup rifle?
Answer: I guess it would depend on the length of your bullpup. The forward V support can be moved back and the stock retainer straps and vice are adjustable, so you can "shorten" it's holding parameters. I would suspect the answer is yes it will, BUT I do not have a bullpup.
Answer: No, not a good fit
Product reviews of HYSKORE 1003639 Dual Damper Machine Rest
richard : adjusts easily.
Well made rest, adjusts easily.
Amazon Customer : Sweet!!
This thing is sweet, shot 308 ,300 ultra mag, and a bunch of others, have to adjust a bit in between shots but works great and is a lot of fun to use, it woulda paid for itself testing reloads last winter,,
Wing : Good quality and easy to use
Work great for zero my toys
Boner_Dude : Great concept, some design flaws.
Did not work with my 870 express. I could only rest the foregrip on the V so it was not stable and i had to keep taking the strap off to reload it. The vertical post on the foregrip is very thin and i had it almost maxed out to hold my 870 and my TC Omega Z5. The windage adjustments are a little suspect too. i found it hard to adjust and when i could it was on for very fine changes, changes that for more easily made on purpose or on accident by the stock support clamps. The straps to secure the gun down are velcro so they have infinite sizes to adjust to, but they stretched and came undone with almost every shot. a ratchet strap would be more efficient and sturdy.
Kerry Black : Great for setting up a rifle and bullet load
Excellent product, great for setting up a new rifle, scope, and bullet load, works great for dialing in a long range bullet, no human error is involved when firing the weapon, I did have to bend the trigger rod slightly too align better with the face of the trigger, was able to hit bullseye of target at 772 yds on first shot, once my bullet load was set up.
richard : adjusts easily.
Well made rest, adjusts easily.
BigTim : Product looks GREAT and is as advertised
Carton damaged and minor parts missing but vendor responded quickly and offered to reimburse me for the missing bolts. Product looks GREAT and is as advertised.
charles : Very good
A lot to like about this product, to much to list !
Buysalot : Kind of a let down.
way to much going on with this rest. Tough to hold on zero, I think a better front rest would help. He rear stock brace is weak as well.
Kim Roe : Has some challenges.
This thing looks awesome. But unfortunately it has some drawbacks. I also have a Lead Sled and am getting more consistent results with the Lead Sled's simplicity.
The Gun Vise feature: My first snag is the clamps that secure the rifle butt. The clamp knobs interfere with obtaining a good and consistent sight picture through the scope or iron sights. The tightening knobs prevent you from getting your cheek to the normal rest angle and eye relief distance to get a repeatable, comfortable sight picture. The picture of an AR-15 on the Hyskore web site shows this obstruction, but I didn’t notice that until I owned this sight rest. I have to angle my sight view which causes a not so repeatable result. On some of my rifles like a Ruger Precision Rifle, or my Sig Sauer 556, you cannot use the clamps at all so they really obstruct your sighting in. You cannot remove the clamp screws without cutting them off or adjust the rear clamp so not to obstruct your aiming. I also looked at adjusting the rear Butt Retention Strap with no success. Any possible adjustment without major modification interferes with adequately accommodating the rifle in the V Notch forearm rest. The only solution I currently have is buying a replacement/SPARE vise fixture. It is on their web site part number 30275 – 1 for $37.50 and cutting off the clamp knobs so that I can get a good consistent repeatable sight picture. I will probably just cut off the gun vise clamp knobs so I can get a sight picture.
Bench Grip Arm and Recoil Dampener System: I have not found a table at a gun range that will accommodate Bench Grip Arm. They simply do not extend long enough to work on any of the shooting benches of any or the three ranges I attend. They also have bolts that hold them in place that makes deploying them time consuming and cumbersome. You can drop the nuts and washers and you will fumble with them taking them out or putting them in. I purchased from Amazon two Monroe Zinc Plated Steel Quick Release Pin, Ring Handle, 5/16" Diameter, 2.3" Grip Length (Pack of 1). It makes deploying the Bench Grip Arms seconds rather than minutes with no nut fumbling. Nonetheless, I have found the Bench Grip Arms too short to be of use at any range I have attended. Without the deployment of the Bench Grip Arm, you can never take advantage of the recoil dampener system.
30/20 Magazine accommodation: Not so much. In the picture of the rest on the Hyskore web site it shows an AR-16 with a 30 round mag in the gun rest. BUT, when I put my rifles in the rest, the mags bottom out on the table below the rest. In the picture on the Hyskore web you can see that the forearm adjustment of the rifle is elevated to accommodate the 30 round magazine. BUT the aim angle in the picture is unmistakably high, too up/high to aim at a level target and hit that target. I need the rest to accommodate the rifle. I extended the adjustable “Leveling Jack & Knob” of the rest, but they do not have sufficient length to accommodate the necessary magazine clearance for the table below the rest. I had to shoot one round at a time without the mags in place or use a 10 round mag. I have cut 2”X4” blocks since so that the rest will actually accommodate 30/20 magazines so that you can aim on a level plain...
I got rid of my Lead Sled to get this rest. The Lead Sled is simpler, and easier to use and I have had great consistent results. I had a machinist make a modification to my Lead Sled that allowed it to fully accommodate 30 round magazines. Like the Hyskore rest you can change elevation but the Lead Sled does not have a wind-age adjustment. The Hyskore rest a right/left (wind-age) aim adjustment. That is the best feature I have experiences with this Hyskore rest.
Nikola : Perfect seller and product
Great as it is expected
