Honestly I should have payed more attention to the length of these before I ordered (5.3 inches). They are really big. These may be more suitable for northern pike than for bass. In our spot on Lake Huron, the bass are not particularly big. It is rare to get large sized bass in our area, and these lures are about half the length of the average length of the fish themselves.
They look good, but we didn't even get a nibble on these. I think the fish were afraid of them. ;-)
You might want to try something smaller depending on your location.

Lloyd M. Fuke : Hocety jointed minnows - typical of the breed = PRODUCTIVE
Joited minnows have become my favorite lures. Treble hoos tend to hang up in the joints, but that problem gets solved by switching to heavier wire hooks. An issue than concerned me was fragility at the joints. That was a needless concern. I have never suffered a broken lure, ever. The tantalizing swimming action of jointed minnows makes them deadly.
