Answer: they seem more for saltwater species. but i catch redsnapper on skipjack all the time.

Answer: i believe it is a Lead alloy. Package says it contains lead they are small and heavy. Deadly on kings, Bonito, blackfin, and Blue runners.

I used the 1 oz spoons surf fishing at OBX last week. I caught good size spanish mackerel, blue fish, and a spotted trout. The treble hooks can be a little finicky and I had a couple of near catches that got off, but I caught so many fish with this lure, I didn't really care. Highly recommend.

On Friday, 2/22/19 a buddy and I used my new Silver spoons which I had received on Sunday, 2/17/19 in our efforts to fish on Lake Jocassee located in northwestern corner of South Carolina. In pouring rain we caught forty, yes forty Brown Trout over a three and a half hour period. Lures are sleek and extremely effective. Great value for the money. Purchased a larger size and the trout loved it too. Caught sixteen brown trout on 3/8/19 same lake.

I purchased the set of four Last Cast 1oz. silver chrome casting spoons as an alternative to my KastMaster spoon that I lost on a huge fish, and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. After the first use, the spray paint on the lure is almost completely gone (I would think that a chrome dip would be used and not cheap chrome-color spray paint) and one of the treble hooks broke after I caught my second fish (fish were under two pounds). I am using this for fishing off the beach in Florida and my previous KastMaster spoon (which costs more but is worth it), I caught well over 30 fish and it lasted over a month before I lost it on the one that got away!

I cannot understand why the great reviews for this inferior product but can only recommend that you save your money and buy the real thing...
