Answer: If you keep it in a covered area you could as long as it is protected from water. If you mean just out in the open with rain on it, that would be a little foolish to me.

Answer: No, you cannot control it via phone. This is a set and forget kind of deal. The Thermometer can be monitored via bluetooth app and you can adjust it to alert you. But the grill has no phone app.
