will this work on stove tops and inside ovens?

Answer: The unit does not hold water so the wood chips will have to be soaked prior to putting them in the container. If you use inside it will be Smokey. Use outdoors. I place mine on a heat defuser to induce smoke in my AKORN smoker. Works OK
