High Expectations : Not as bright as advertised

When you look at the lumen output for the money spent, this is a bargain. Similar units sell for double the price in brick and mortar stores. The overall quality is good. It doesn't feel or look cheap. That said, when submerged in the bay, the light only carries about 3 feet. Shocking given how bright it is out of water. If you put it in completely clear water I am sure it would carry further, but we aren't in the Caribbean and don't fish in our pool, so for real world purposes it falls short.
