Are these really top water baits?

Answer: No, these are 2 1/4" shallow running crankbaits with rattles inside. Good for bass where I live, but no luck with walleyes. For the price they are hard to beat.

Answer: The stubby ones with the medium sized lips float but are divers. For me they dove down to about 6 or 7 feet.

Answer: No, not at all, they do float, when sitting idle, but when you reel them in, they dive up to about 5.5 ft.

Answer: No there good lures not strike king but not China junk either. You don’t spend so much effort getting one back if hung bad!

Answer: Actually these lures are waaayyyyy better than I had expected. They run true right out of the box and honestly have decent hooks on them. I was able to catch and land a 45" Muskie with one and albeit the hook did straighten a bit it held on till I could get him in the boat. Am right now ordering another set.

Answer: They are pretty good. The density is very good which makes casting easy. I bought some and gave them to friends, they love them. One drawback, sometimes the lips crack when bouncing of riprap, other than that, I'm happy with them.

Would they work for saltwater surf fishing?

Answer: I guess you could use them but they only run around 1-2’ deep and are fairly light so you wouldn’t be able to cast very far. There more of a bass fishing type of lure or inshore possibly.

Perfect lures for the bass in the Midwest. We don’t have the giants like in other parts of the country so a smaller crankbait works well. Very good action. So far the colors haven’t scraped off, even after casting into my local bridge a few times. Hooks are good, but I usually replace hooks on my well used lures every year or 2, so they get upgraded eventually.

I’ve caught some quality bass with these lures (see pic). The wobble action and rattled are superb. But, one of the lips broke off (see pic 2). The front hook often swing forward and catches on the lip and I had to work it off every few casts. The lip on one lure broke off after I hit a rock see wall. Not sure if it was due to repeated stress of the hooks catching or impact with the rocks, but I’ve not had cranks break like this before. For the price, I’d still pick them up and replace as needed.

Highly recommend. I spend a lot of money on lures, a single KVD 8.0 costs as much as this six pack. But if they don't catch fish, what good are they? Well, I have only used the yellow w/ black back & black specks. It was the first one I tied on, runs true, is very controllable and it catches fish. Fit and Finish on these lures are excellent. I love square bill crank baits and can tell you these stack up to any name brand lures I have in my arsenal. They now share the same box with all my KVD's from 1.0's to 8.0's and I will readily use these in a tournament. Having confidence in a lure is 98% of fishing, these are a winner in the confidence department. How I fish them: I like to slowly reel these in with occasional pauses through the weeds or casting from my boat to the shore sometimes letting it bounce off a rock.. If the water is clear enough you can easily manipulate the lure through a weed bed or over the tops of the weeds and the bass will find them. These will also catch fish with a constant retrieved but I prefer to just reel, pause, reel pause. I do not jerk the lure, simply stop reeling for a second then continue on. However, ripping them would probably work also.

These lures are well painted and have good action retrieved fast or slow. I have caught bass, crappie, and bluegill at the local ponds.
They float, which will be good for surf fishing. I recommend removing the split ring to make it easier to attach a snap swivel.
