How many seals will the batteries last?

Answer: After 10 seals battery died. Not worth buying.

Is there a rechargeable one?

Answer: No, it’s battery. The package included 2 AA batteries. You just need to install them into the sealer. And you’d better to take out the batteries for a longer life when there will be a long rest time. I don't know if this is any different than the other responder, but we keep the fold down plastic flap which keeps the plates separated folded up, in place, whenever we're not using it.
