Purchased this in december but, it no longer seals after vacuuming. the element doesn't even get hot! anything i can do about it???
Answer: I purchased mine in December and it is now not sealing correctly either. It sucks all the air out of the bag during vacuum, but then let's air back in as it's sealing.

How long does it take to seal and vacuum a bag? I have used some models that are very slow while others seem to be much faster.
Answer: Vacuum time is in the range of 20 to 29 seconds (vacuum and seal). In my example used a 8x12" quart vacuum bag with an item about the size of chicken breast the vac and seal time was 28 seconds complete.
Answer: This is my second sealer, first was a 10+ year old black-n-decker. The vacuum part is about equal and does the job well, the heat seal is far better as it is a solid 1/8” strip. One of the things I compared in pics before buying. The other thing I found about the manufacturer is they also make industrial vac-sealers. The locking handle is excellent, solid & easy. I use the bags made by avid armor that feel well made and a lil thicker. Comes with a small cutter. I seal the end of the roll and cut off what I need while still locked in the sealer. Has led’s to indicate sealing and when done.

How many bags consecutively can you seal? Do you need to let the machine rest between bags?
Answer: Model AVS7900 is rated to pack about 100 bags before needing to cool down.Personally I have used it up to 50 consecutive bags with no issue. The only rest I suggest is the timeto prep the next bag making it ready to seal.
Answer: The user manual clearly states "FOR BEST SEALING RESULTS, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO ALLOW SEALER TO COOL DOWN FOR 60 SECONDS BETWEEN EACH CYCLE". I'm not sure why the seller responded otherwise.

Answer: I don't know specifically, but we previously have had two food saver machines and this machine is at least as strong and probably better. We don't do a large volume and have been very satisfied with the results.

Answer: With model AVS7900 there are two settings: wet items and dry items. The vacuum level in the wet setting is slightly lower than dry due to not wanting to suck the liquid out of bag. Helps keep to a minimum. the dry setting is longest. In either setting the vacuum is control by a vacuum sensor so cannot override. However for shorter or longer settings, you can use the "pulse" mode and control the vacuum by holding down this button.

Answer: Our AVS7900 Vacuum Sealer comes with 10 Quart 8x12" sample bags. The vacuum hose is not included. The hose will be included with the vacuum canister setthat we will launch very soon. However the vacuum port will fit many other brands of vac hoses including FB and others.

This sealer is great. Good price, compact, and easy to use. Pulse button gives total control, and it even has an accessory port.
I also bought their 3 vacuum cannister & hose kit, which also works great. The largest cannister lets me seal Ball quart-size, wide-mouth jars.

About a year ago, my Foodsaver vacuum sealer died. It was at least the fifth $100 unit I have had in my lifetime. I decided to splurge and bought an Avid Armor chamber vacuum sealer. With one minor exception, this is the way to go! Well worth the very high price. The one problem is that I do a lot of sous vide cooking and some of my roasts would not fit inside the chamber of the vacuum sealer This is why I bought this unit.
For about half the price of a FoodSaver, it works faster and appears to be better made. I doubt that I will seal more than a hundred bags with this unit in my lifetime, because the chamber unit is so vastly superior and uses less expensive bags. However for the bags that are too big for the chamber unit, I am extremely happy with this unit.
My only complaint is that it does not have internal roll storage. Not a huge problem, but it is an annoyance.

This is a pretty solid deal for what it is. I also got the Potane at the same time which uses almost identical component list and this is the better unit for less than half the price. The locking lid, 3mm seal bar and effective cord storage are great features. I didn't miss the lack of bag storage and never tried the canister mode because it does not come with a hose but there is a place inside the lid for it's storage. There are annoying quirks like the vacuum turning on every time you press seal and the way any fluid in the bag will end up all over the outside of the bag messing up the seal. I returned this because of it's inability to seal wet things with any consistently but if you only seal dry, stuff you will be very pleased with this machine
