Answer: It depends if you like it chewy or very dry. I set it at 270 for 1 hr then 265 for 7 hrs. I had the butcher at the grocery store slice it for jerky. It came out perfect. Nice and dry.

Answer: The one with 7 trays has no timer I have that one and i dont think it auto shuts off for overheating since I've had this on dehydrating max setting 75c for 12hrs

How long can it last at max heat? I’m seeing you can make beef jerky within 4 hours at 70 C

Answer: You may be able to make some of the trays being done but others are over done and topshelve may not be done. I cook at50c and rotate the shelves after 2 hours then ever 2 hours until it’s done. Depending thickness of the meat and sauce you use it maybe done in 4 to 5 hours

Answer: Yes mine did not come with directions or manual it’s a basic joke machine I did send it back to Amazon got a full refund and went and got the Nesco unit which is a lot better way better my recommendation not to get that unit

I read all the reviews. There were some comments about how noisy the dehydrator . The noise was only about as disrupting as using a microwave. But more quite than microwave. I really like the machine . The time it took to dry was cut by more than half. The was a lot easier to clean up than my old dehydrator . Plus, being square , it held more meats than my old traditionl round one.

This dehydrator is Amazing!!! Easy to move being so light. Made beef jerky with it done in 4 hours. Also made dried fruit. Love the fact it turns off when done. Im busy chasing kids around and dont have time to check it. The only downside it the door make sure it is closed all the way. It kinda catches on the side. Love the window you can see clear thru. So you dont have to open like the round ones.

It works fine but everyone should know that if the recommendations call for a fruit or vegetable to be dehydrated for 10-12 hours it will actually take more like 16-20 hours. It is always better to have the fan in the rear for more consistency in drying. But the shelves are easier to rotate than other machines. So if time is an issue for you go with a more commercial until. If cost is what your after this will work great. Happy dehydration to all.

This dehydrator in my opinion is not for bigger jobs like trays of fruit and such. May be ok for single individual with excess time. It took me nearly 3 days to dehydrate Basil leaves. It works ok on finer herbs like dill and thyme, just not enough wattage for my intended use. I should have researched this better. It does dehydrate but the pictures and product description are a bit exaggerated ! On to bigger and better
