Is this suitable for hunting alligator?

Answer: Never hunted alligator, I use mine for Halibut fishing and it works great. You have to get it all the way through your prey and it can get pulled out if there is a lot of life in them still.

Answer: Although we don’t have gators in Hawaii my feeling is you need something more heavy duty. The handle might be too light to pack enough punch to go through the gator hide n the cable size would have to increase. That’s just my opinion.

Can this be used for tuna?

Answer: We would not advise using this for Tuna as they are way too heavy for this harpoon.

Answer: I bought this for Alligators and it is more suited for tuna.

Answer: Don't waste your money. I used it on a 50ish pound stingray and it bent first time

Does anyone know the size of the o-ring needed? Mine showed up without one.

Answer: I took mine off so the tip comes off easier. Works better without it!

Answer: A P4 seems to fit well.

What is the shank diameter?

Answer: I'm not 100% sure but i don't recommend buying this harpoon i used it once on a stingray and the shaft bent

Answer: I don't know but they work great on Halibut. Buy an extra point in case you have two on at once.

It showed up without the dart and the shaft was bent. I could tell it was opened before. I returned it and bought a different one...

Got my harpoon today and its missing the most important part, I you packaged it better it probably wouldn't have fallen off. Pissed off !!!

Almost worked correctly, and then it didnt. The first use when i pulled the harpoon tip leader attached to a small rope, the leader crimping broke. So it breaks and the rope comes undone and in one hand i have a harpoon tip, in the other i have the rope, and in the water we wstch the fish swim away harmed.
That being explained, the harpoon pole itself is quite nice. Lightweight, seems sturdy...just that dang metal leader crimping sucks.
