Just tried them yesterday. They sink and don't float. Defeats the purpose of a whopper plopper lure if they sink. I'm tossing all of them. Absolute trash.

Tried these out last week on small pond. Worked good but might put straight hooks so I can get into the grass better. Catch lots of grass with treble hooks.

I catch fish on these Plopper clones. Decent quality. They are not the real thing. I did have to fiddle with a couple of them to make them work better. Worth the money in my opinion. The two issues I have are the plopping does not start right away, takes a hard pull and a couple of feet before the lure comes up out of the water enough to plop. Also, a barrel swivel is necessary to prevent line twist.

Good quality, took them on a recent bass fishing trip and used them almost exclusively for top water. Caught many fish, casted well. Very happy with these lures.
orangesporange : They're ok, buuuut...
I think these are weighted a little off. I understand they're supposed to be back heavy so they dangle in the water when paused, but the ones I received all completely submerge when paused. Then it takes more effort to pull it back on top to do the plopping action. This seems to take a good 5 feet of pulling it to the surface, shortening the cast and possibly causing too much disturbance in the water. I did get 2 bites on the yellow one, but they both came off. My drag was fine, I think it was the hooks. Short shanks tend to allow fish to pop off easier.
I'll have to get a Dahlberg whopper plopper to test it against these. I'll update my review when that happens.

These are slightly heavier than the original whopper plopplers. If you do a rainbow cast, they will sink fot a second or 2. Still works though. Beats paying $12 for one and then a pike takes it on your 3rd cast. With these, if I lose it, it's not a big deal.
The only con is that, the tail housing was not glued that well. Hit a log a few times and the tail housing completely came off. Had to superglued it back on. No biggie though. I recommend others to put a drop of super glue around the tail housing and let it dry before using

Tails have come unglued on a few of these. Not something you want to have to deal with when you just want to fish.

I ordered the combination-c set because of the wide variety of colors in the set. To be honest I have only tried them in a container of water to check how they floated and the action. They float in the correct position for a swimming fish with the tail slightly higher in the water. As they are pulled through the water this will cause a up/down motion. The segmented body has very nice, realistic action moving from side to side.
They appear to be well made, though, because of the soft body, they will show some wear very quickly. The price is very good and the variety of colors is excellent. I also like that they have a plastic case to keep them in place and separate. Not too long before bass season opens!
