Answer: I purchased the 7-3/4" version whose length does include the tail. The body is 4" and the tail is 3-3/4"

As soon as i opened the package the rat start falling apart, the tail can't be fixed it's sitting there nothing to keep it in place

Tail flew off after second cast, bracket broke, swims well, looks good but durability is a zero that’s with NO fish contact. Looks good on the shelf, a broken mess once it hits water, save your money and keep looking elsewhere. Will try and glue the spare one on. I supposed that is why they sent a spare, they no what they are shipping out.

Not sure if it's me or the lure. I have tried this 2x on guaranteed bass lakes and no success. It looks so realistic I actually want to believe it's me, but I have tried retrieving this many different ways at many different speeds and nothing. I'll give it another day out, after this it's out of my bag.

The savage gear rat wake bait I received is not the same picture advertised , Beware their is only 1 treble hook attached. I doubt this will work as advertised.

bought the 6 1/2 grey. its truly an amazing lure. swim action is fantastic. lots of bites from smaller guys. finally land one, and tail is gone. its literally a break away piece. not much luck finding a replacement tail kit even on their website. my suggestion is screw it, and glue it. let the bass choke on it. ordering another one though.

As soon as i saw the lure i knew it was different from what the picture shows. Picture shows 2 triple hooks lure only has one. I then noticed the tail can b detachable, i knew it would come off within a few cast or a fish could possibly bite it off... a few cast in no bites and tail was gone, it does have good action it could possibly catch a big one but poorly made not what i expected for the price!!!

Tied the lure on in Canada back in June. Made the typical comment you hear in the south, "watch this". Made a nice long cast and the lure hit about 6 inches from the rocky shoreline. After a pause to let the ripples settle out made one turn of the reel handle and boom. A nice three pound small mouth clobbered the mouse. Yeah that worked for me and it was followed by others the balance of the week.

I really like the quality of this lure. Haven't caught a bass with it yet but I've had several strikes. I wish the rat had two sets of hooks. The bass keep short striking the lure, thereby missing the hook. A forward and rear set of treble hooks would probably fix it. It is big and heavy, not going to catch any small fish.

This is a great bait for large mouth bass in ponds and lakes. It comes with a connection on the bill and one in the nose. The connection in the bill did not work that great. When I switched it to the connection on the nose of the bait, the action was 100% better. The lure is very effective and fish can't resist it. I recommend this for large mouth bass near inflows of water and structures.
