What is the length ?

Answer: The specs say 2 3/4 inches long. I have so many that I can't remember which ones are the 07 ones! The only ones that we use are the F-18 at 7 inches long for Northern Pike.

Answer: I would click on "silver" and write a note on your order that you definitely want the silver. I see how a few of the colors don't match up with their names. It is confusing. Good luck.

Answer: You're right. When I clicked Silver and added it to my cart it gave me the Yellow perch. I would say whatever it says in the cart is what you're going to get. Either contact amazon or add one of each to your cart and see if any say Silver. Then just delete all the others.

Answer: The lure floats but will go under the surface as you reel it in.. when you stop reeling, the lure will float back up to the surface.

Answer: The lure floats on the surface, so that you can twitch it like a wounded minnow. Then, as you retrieve it, it comes back around 3 feet below the surface. If you stop the retrieve, it floats back to the surface.

Answer: No, as it says in the description it is a floating lure. It will dive to 1-2 feet depending on the speed of retrieval. Great for river/stream fishing.

At our house we love this lure. We have an acre and a half pond that we have stocked with brim and bass and we can throw one of these out there with one of our younger kids and catch a bass at least three times a day.

It weighs just enough where you can cast it well and get a good distance but it is light enough to float and wiggle perfectly so our bass believe they're catching a fish!!!

Awesome crankbait for ultra light gear. I throw mine on 4 pound fluoro on a UL spin rod in the local ponds for the odd hour after work. Tons of bass, crappy, pickerel, and the occasional bluegill with these Rapala's. Their size makes them perfect for the smaller fish in pond. I can assure you that bigger fish will not pass on it either - they just don't happen to swim in the pond round the corner.

Sizes and weights are in metric, so for those of you who grew up in the US, Myamar and Liberia, get the converters out if you want to order the right size (can't wait for your comments). So 07 refers to 7 cm or 2 3/4 inches.

Good quality as you might expect - I have several that lasted more then a season without too much wear and tear - unlike some cheap knock offs where the hooks rust as soon as they see water....

Even though I did not try fishing with this lure, I checked that the action is very good. Hopefully I will get several small dorados with it!!

I have been fishing floating Raps of all sizes for 40+ years. Most people don't have a clue how to properly fish them. First, Do NOT use a swivel or snap! Learn to tie a Duncan loop, preferably with a fluorocarbon shock leader (6Lb main line, 10Lb leader, 10 Lb main line, 15Lb leader, etc...). I generally tie a Bimini twist on the main line and attach the shock leader with a Surgeons (double overhand) knot. The Bimini will catch organic debris and keep it off the lure, but it will need to be cleaned often in weedy conditions. That knot setup is also a 100% strength setup so if you snag the lure the main line will break somewhere between the Bimini and the Rod. At least you will know you tied everything properly! Check the loop every time you bring the lure to the boat and re-open it if needed. Secondly, long line this lure from your boat... A really long line. If you are fishing with others and you use these two tricks they will be crying at the end of the day as to why you caught all the fish! Do not troll the count-down Rap... It does not have the action of the floater. Check your lure for running true. You can bend the eye gently if it isn't running true (generally they run true out of the box). When tuned and properly rigged, you can drop one behind the boat at substantial speed and it will run true. Oh, and one last thing... I often replace the Trebles with slightly larger fine wire treble hooks like a Mustad 3551. The hooks will bend easily so you need to replace them when that happens but when hand sharpened they will drive home with much more reliability resulting in more fish in the boat. Don't share this info with others... I am just feeling particularly generous today. :-)

I bought this lure to use in the small pond in my backyard. The pond hasn't been stocked in years and was beginning to show its age because the quantity and quality of the fish had been falling. Honestly I didn't have very high hopes for this lure in our pond. I was slightly surprised when I caught a decent 1.5 pound bass on only the second cast, but still only thought it was luck. Then only two more casts later I hooked into a very nice 4 pound largemouth. I was becoming more excited but still wasn't fully convinced. Finally after only four more casts i caught another decent 2 pound bass. That was proof enough for me. I think the Rapala Original Floater is a very good lure and I plan on buying at least two more of these to use this summer.

I guess I just didn't know the size but this was way smaller than I was expecting, maybe only 2 inches long. I was expecting it to be much bigger. It seems well made and looks like the picture. I can't speak to the fishing results since I was going for bigger stuff.

I am relatively new to using this type of lure. I recently moved to a different area, and am trying to change my fishing style to match the new techniques required.

I seem to have the best results with a medium reel rate. Takes some good speed to get it to sink, and it resurfaces rather quick afterward. Its obviously great in shallow water or for fish striking the surface.

I have managed to catch some nice bass, a few big ones, along with the occasional smaller random fish.

This is a great lure, relatively lightweight though, which impacts my casting until I get it dialed in for a lure of this weight.

Great lure to add to your box.

I catch more rainbow trout in lakes on this lure representing a yellow perch that any other lure. I like the fact that it floats because often when a rainbow strikes it it is to stun it and they the trout comes back around to eat it. When I feel a hit and the fish is not hooked I open the bail of my spinning reel and let the lure start to float to towards the surface. I often hook a fish as soon as I start to move the lure again. Works like a charm.

The floating Rapala is a classic bass lures. It is great in shallow water conditions as it will float over weeds and timber and the light weight gives it a quiet landing. Great for bass, but the balsa construction makes it susceptable to damage from toothy fish like pike.
