1. Level 3-4.5 is enough for most applications.
2. The red light is not predictable when plug into the power. It is only predictable when keep the handle pressed down on bottom. This is a protection for sealer or it will burn out after several uses.
3.When the signal light is off automatically, keeping the handle pressed down for 2-3.5 seconds would get optimal results.Otherwise the sealing place will be not smooth.
4.Keep the sealer's surface clean to avoid the oxidation of the residue which will reduce the life of the heat sealing strip.
No warmup time needed, put the bag on the machine flat.

1.Kindly pls reading Instruction manual carefully and To adjust the temperature that you need when using it for the first time.
2.Higher settings don't necessarily always mean a stronger seal.We recommend starting low and gradually increasing your settings from 2.5-4.5 temperature grade for the different thick bags,it's better don't exceed 5 Grade temperature.
3.Do not use wet cloth to clean the surface of heat sealing strip,after 30 minutes of continuous use, try to let the machine rest about 5-10 minutes.
4.The sealing machine cannot be placed in where blankets, clothes, etc. That cannot dissipate heat. It is recommended to place it on the table top.
5.When using this machine in the summer, we recommend that the temperature be lowered by one level than in winter and keep an eye on the temperature of the bottom cover.
6.It's better for sealing the PP,PE bags,but can't cut the bags.

You need to hold down the handle for about 7 seconds and then move the bag to a new position and reseal once or twice more. We even flipped our bags over to get them to seal better. The sealer did go bad after about 6 weeks. We had sparks and all. We ended up sending it back and now use a standard straightening iron which works magnificently!

I've used this to seal a vinyl balloon however it doesn't give enough width seal and as soon as you inflate the balloon, it's more likely to open. It is also hard to know if its done sealing. You will not hear the click rather, you will have to look sideways where the red button is to know if the 2-3 sec has passed or if when the red light has turned off. Other than that, price point is good.

Have no idea of how it works for sealing food bags or anything, because I bought it to try to make my own photograph pages for 3 ring binder. It works great for what I bought it for. I can now purchase cheap full page sheet protectors and then section them off for any sizes of photos - even photos that are antique odd-shaped sizes that they don't make photo pages for. I purchased this heat sealer based on the high customer rating and "Amazon Choice". I've only had this 1 month and used it three times for cutting burlap deco mesh. I just tried to use it earlier this afternoon, and the unit made a loud noise when the arm was pressed down, and the heating element never heated up. Heat sealer, works well if the bag or package is single thickness. I used this to seal stand up coffee bag, the side had folded edges which is thicker than the center of the bag. It would not create a seamless seal even when I pressed hard for 10 seconds. It seems the rubber wasn’t enough pressure to press the plastic together, so I started double sealing, which melted the bags. This sealer only worked for approx. 1 month. I replaced the heating element and it still did not work.

So cheaply made and literally broke after the first couple times of using. I was able to fix it the “first” time it broke but then it broke again after that and I gave up. I would have to hold the handle down at a weird angle just to get it to work. Another issue is that the heat doesn’t stay consistent. After sealing about 3-4 bags it just starts warping the bags no matter what heat level I turn it down to. This will be going in the trash. I just purchased a different one that was double the price but looks to be so much more sturdy.

I got this sealer to compliment my vacuum sealer. While I was hoping for a wide seal area, it is actually a quite narrow seal. But that's fine, still faster than the Vac when setting up multiple bags.
Just be careful to dial it in just right. The first few tries did not give a water/air tight seal due to small gaps in the seal. After fiddling with it, it now does the job.
Finally, be sure to wait a few seconds after light goes off before releasing handle or you can ruin the seal. It works well, but the seals are slightly weaker compared to the Vac.

There's better ones out there. I bought it bc I thought that it would be as good as the competitors, as it's not to involved. The trouble is, It doesn't like to seal the packages, which is it's main purpose in life. I have to do a line of like 5 or 6 seals and hope the voids don't line up so I can get a seal. Bummer. You get what you pay for I guess.
