Is this a left or right hand reel?

Answer: This is a left handed reel but it doesn’t say that in the description. I sent mine back and ordered a different reel since I could not find this one in a right handed reel.

Answer: The xsl should be the left hand variant but it does come in both right and left hand retrieve

Answer: I ordered the Left hand version but you can order a right hand version also

Answer: I don’t go by the side I go by the feel whatever feels right to me to me it’s right hand just the same as a spinning the way they come. But the companies call that a left hand

Kelly Sullivan : Amazing little reel & fast

Bass fishings best kept secret... this reel has 9 bearings , plus a roller bearing... super smooth, casts really far , with the brake on 7 to prevent backlash (maybe 6 or 5 with practice). I haven't caught anything over 1-1/2# yet, but it has performed flawlessly with 12# mono on it, using it for topwater and spinner baits, rigged on a 7' medium action/fast tip rod. I don't know about durability/longevity, only had it 2 weeks. But it is a Daiwa !! I have another one on the way (different gear ratio) small , light , aluminum frame, hi speed 8.3:1 really picks up line quick, and less than 1 hundred clams !!! Buy one or 2 before the price goes up !!!

NB : Fast & Furious

The Daiwa CA80 is a great reel at this price point. Loaded with braid on a heavy flip / punch rod, it makes quick retrieves out of gunk. Casts like a bullet too. You can't go wrong with this one.

Good reel. I like the fact that it is aluminum framed. I own a Fuego CT, and the build quality on the fuego is superior. With that being said, this is still a good reel, very smooth, holds drag well, and casts a mile.
