How are these bags reusable after being sealed?

Answer: Cut open the sealed bag, remove some of the contents then reseal. Example - I freeze blueberries but I don't use them all at once. I take some out then reseal what I don't need in the same bag.

Answer: Yes. I reseal the food. I also reuse the bag by wiping it out with a damp paper towel and letting it dry.

How are these reusable? Do you cut off the top inch after every use?

Answer: I cut just below the seal, remove what I need, then reseal.

Original food saver bags. pre cut, makes these so easy to use. I used to get them on a roll and cut to size, but it was such a hassle. these take the hassle out by being just the right size for most anything. they seal great and help keep fod much fresher for longer!

I like to make large batches of soup, but for the past few years have been very unhappy with the containers available to store the soup in...until now. I can easily fill this bag with soup using a ladle and then sealing the bag without spills, extra effort and inconvenience.

Better yet, these bags take up much less space than my soup freezing alternatives, which were mainly cylindrical plastic containers that looked like small paint containers.

Love this design and plan on using it for chili and other liquid based foods to freeze.

The great thing that I love about these is that shen I make Sinigang (Filipino sour soup), I make a ton!!
It’s a comfort food for us. When we’re sick or if it’s cold outside, or just whenever we crave it, we can’t just make a little batch of it.
Instead of throwing out what we don’t eat, I can now save it in these stand up 1 gallon bags and store it in my deep freezer.
This saves me money and time for the future.

I've had my FoodSaver appliance for about 15 years. In most of that time, I've wondered why there wasn't a flat bottom option available for the bags. Finally, someone read my mind and invented it! :)

I'll be the first person to admit that I'm thrifty. Since the cut-it-yourself roll material is less expensive per inch, I'll most likely continue to use that for the meat that I vacuum pack. But these flat bottom bags are perfect for messier things like soup, chili, pasta, pasta sauce, mashed potatoes, rice, and so on.

As I mentioned before, my FoodSaver appliance is about 15 years old. It doesn't have the "moist" feature that some of the newer models have. Because of that, I can't seal something that is liquid without making a huge mess and possibly damaging the machine. However, these bags are able to sit upright by themselves. I can ladle in my soup, chili, sauce, etc and sit it upright (unsealed) in my freezer for a few hours until it is solid. Then I seal the bag and return it to the freezer.

HappyWife : great value for the price

These gallon sized bags are great. They hold a lot of chicken breasts inside. (I buy large amounts since they are cheaper for pound.) I also have used them to store fresh fruits. They are easy to work with and work very nicely with my off brand vacuum sealer. I recommend these!

These are good size bags that can hold a lot. It's pretty cool how they can stand for easier filling, but be careful that you have a way for it to stand when you're sealing the bag. Also even though they can hold a lot, don't try to fill too tight if using liquid or it will leak when sealing. They're the quality I expect and I like the size.

Sometimes you just need extra hands in the kitchen. These bags lend you an extra hand by staying upright to fill. I love these for sous vide cooking, and for meal prep ahead. They're really durable and washable so you can reuse until you've cut them too low to seal! I'm typically a 'green' person, everything reusable & no plastics, but my food saver is one of the few exceptions!

This is a set of 10 one gallon reusable vacuum bags for storing food. I have a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer. I often purchase a family size tray of chicken or pork, divide the meat into packages for two and vacuum seal them before freezing. I also like to cook soup and spaghetti sauce in larger quantities than two people can eat. Again, I vacuum pack them and freeze them. The wide mouth allows me to load food easily. They have a flat bottom for easy filling (they stand up straight.) It is easy to organize your freezer when using this bag. When you are not using them they fold flat for easy storage.

My model of Foodsaver has the vacuum sealing compartment awkwardly raised way off the counter, which makes it difficult to seal flat bags unless you leave a good 6 inches empty, such a stupid waste. To get around that, I normally have to put whatever I'm sealing raised on a chopping block or a couple cookbooks. What I like about these bags is that they're just the right height not to have to futz around with them to feed the end into the vacuum chamber. They're also way easier to fill with bulk foods (though less convenient for pieces of meat or anything you don't want to freeze in a block).

These FOODSAVER 2083545 EASY FILL ONE-QUART VACUUM SEALER BAGS (Commercial Grade, Reusable; 16 Count, Clear) are already sealed at the bottom, and can be opened out so that they stand up on a countertop for filling. This is a great feature if you’re sealing things like shelled nuts or berries that need to be poured into the vacuum bag.

The product description says that the bags are reusable. They are heavy enough for reuse, though I’m not sure how you would go about reusing them. I guess that you would cut off the bag top as close as possible to the original seal, wash and dry the bag, and then reseal (as long as there is enough room at the top for a new seal).

These bags work fine with my . You will probably want to practice with a bag or two if you’re sealing wet or delicate food. The wide bottom portion of these bags holds extra air, and makes the bags collapse differently from regular bags when the air is vacuumed out.

The one-quart size is perfect for my two-person household. One-quart vacuum sealer bags easily hold single or double portions. The amount of food that fits into a one-quart vacuum sealer bag always surprises me.

These bags Worked great in my sealer (a Hamilton Beach one). They are a great size for leftovers with a space to write on. I feel like my stuff will stay fresh for ages in these bags! They’re thick too, we sealed some dried cut herbs and the sharp stems didn’t poke through the bag during the sealing process!

I've had a FoodSaver for several years now, and I have to admit I don't use it as often as I might because it takes up a little bit more counter real estate that I can afford. So we break it out when we have made larger purchases as we did recently. We caught some chicken on sale and bought a bunch extra to freeze for future use. This is where your food saver will shine! These 1-gallon bags are pleated on the bottom to help them stand up, but I found that for a lot of foods like the chicken we recently used them for-- the pleat doesn't help you out a lot. It does help hold the bag upright when loading, but I still made a mess with them. [that’s probably more me than the bags] For our chicken, we ended up laying the bag down to freeze anyway, so it took up less space in the freezer.
As far as how well the bags themselves work, they work great. I did feel that using bags [over the rolls that are more common for the FoodSaver] does tend to encourage us to waste some plastic on it. The one-gallon bags are over-large enough so that you have a decent amount of plastic left at the top for the vacuum sealing.

I was always hesitant of vacuum sealing food. It wasn't until I started using my FoodSaver that I now kick my self for not using one earlier. They are easy to use and with sizes such as the FoodSaver 2083545 Easy Fill 1-Quart Vacuum Sealer Bags it makes it extremely easy to portion out food. The money saved on food when bought in larger quantities greatly outweighs the cost of the bags. I love my FoodSaver.

These bags are made of a pretty thick plastic and it is textured. The bags aren't too big, but a decent size to fit things like vegetables, cheese, or other small items in. The way the bags are shaped they can stand up so that you can fill then without having to hold them. They take a little longer to seal because of the thickness of the material, but they do seal. I think they are a good value for the price and would recommend.

This is a huge lot of food storage bags. Very durable and thick material. The bags stand up right on their own which is nice too. These bags make it easy to store food for future use. the bag now has a folded flap that lays flat when open, which is great for thinks like sandwiches, meat loaf, almost anything you can think of. doesn't crush things like the old bags did.

Quality bags! Textured on one side, smooth on the other. Made a perfect seal. Bottoms have a pocket fold for bag expansion.

These are the perfect size for my sous vide setup in a 7 qt Lipavi C5 container. The bags did not float and fit just right in the container with a full bag. Pic shown has 16 large sea scallops in it.

I use my Food Saver all the time and I am surprised it took so long for someone to come up with this idea. Usually I have to hold the food in one hand and hold the bag open with the other. Now with the wider bottom, I don't have to do that. They are a bit on the expensive side unless you reuse them. I will use them when I need a bag to stand on its own for food items and use my other bags for general purpose use.

Good product which is expected since this is from a well known brand. Perfect pre-cut size for small batches of food, and can stand upright on its own. One big issue I ran into is using these for souls vide, big mistake. The Ink used to print the logo on each bag began to run, nearly ruined my Chef Steps Joule.

Just remember not to use these for Sous Vide and you’ll be fine.

I really like my FoodSaver system but the inescapable fact is, you need the bags to make it work! FoodSaver Food Storage is sooooo much better than the zippy bags... They save your food from any damage, spoiling, and freezer burn but I learned recently that you can preserve valuable documents or even jewelry and other items you might want to protect just by using this FoodSaver system! Now, I don't know if FoodSaver wants people using their product that way, but I tried it and it REALLY works!!! FoodSaver bags are really well made and very sturdy!

I really like these bags for extra portions of chili or some such dish that I want to freeze for later. They are tall enough that I can save the leftovers in the fridge, cut the top, use some, and reseal. They stand up nicely for filling but depending on the contents can be a bit awkward to seal if your FoodSaver, like mine, has the sealing channel at counter level. In other words, you couldn't conveniently seal contents that were too runny because the stuff would spill out when the bag is laid down. If the bag is not filled very far, I can stand it up and fold the top down enough to get it into the sealing channel, but then I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth with the big bag. I can also set the bag in the sink and position the FoodSaver next to the sink, but mostly I just don't try to use the bags for runny items. Great for applesauce when I make a big batch or baked beans or casserole leftovers.

Beth A : Works great for solid foods

It took me a while to figure this out, as I'd never used this feature of my FoodSaver before, and it's been a while since I read the directions. It seemed as if it should be straight forward, but I managed not to remember it well, and had it wrong what I should be using it for. I was trying to use it on liquids (stew/spaghetti sauce), but that's not what it's meant for. Once I found better directions, and used it on a solid, all was well, and it did a great job. This was user error, not the fault of the product.
