Does anyone know how this knife's blade compares to the Bubba filet knife?

Answer: I’ve used both and both have worked great. The Bubba blade quality control has had a few hiccups with the blades being brittle and breaking, I haven’t heard of that issue yet with the gerber, also the gerber feels slightly more ergonomic.

Answer: I bought it as a gift so I never used it myself.

Just received the Controller 10 inch knife today. Very sharp out of the package. But then I thought, "Gee, I wonder?"
So, I ran the blade over a steel a few times...OH MY. This blade is now SCARY sharp. I have owned Henkels knives for years and I keep them razor sharp. But the Controller is now the sharpest knife I have. Wow. The grip is comfortable and supportive as advertised. The sheath is just the icing on the cake for its protection, ease of carry and its built in sharpener. As if the knife wasn't enough birthday gift for me...the sheath was like getting 2 birthday gifts in one package.
This is one VERY WELL made knife.
Well done, Gerber. Very well done.
And, well done to my wife for getting this knife for my birthday. I am a happy camper.

Koru Kards : Good form, blade needs work

The knife seems to be well made, the sheath is sturdy and does not flex. The built in honing rod does its job well. The handle has excellent grip when your hands are wet, your hands do not feel like they want to slip out.
The reason for only 3 stars is the fact that the knife was not sharp in any way, out of the box the blade could not cut paper, not something I expect from Gerber...
After some work I was able to get a sharp edge on the blade, not sure how long it will hold though. Time will tell.
