Is this Salt water compatible?

Answer: I would not consider this a saltwater rod. It has quite a bit of backbone but the tip is very flexible, and I doubt the metal would stand up to corrosion.

Answer: It is built for freshwater. Great care would have to be taken cleaning it after saltwater use.

Does the 10' 3 weight and 10' 4 weight have the fighting butt as it's pictured in the Echo catalog?

Answer: I have both the 3wt and the 4wt. Neither have the fighting butt. But, I purchased them directly from Echo. It is a mystery why the pic shows it this way. I was going to buy another for my son and this is stopping me. My favorite rods. I own 14.

Answer: Yes it does come with fighting butt I hesitated on buying it cause the pic don’t show it with one but I took a chance and yes it comes with one awesome rod

TS : Wow! What a fly red

Just received this two days ago. Didn't have much time to fish but had to check it yesterday with an hour on the stream. As expected, it handled the roll/cut cast that puts the nymphs in the water ahead of the line and leader. Hooked a couple of fish as I learned the cast. What really surprised me was when I switched reels to a 5wt fly line and started throwing beautiful loops and dry fly casts. I'm thinking this is my new all around fly rod. Also have to add that it's a beautiful rod with all the little things taken care of in a nice rod case and sleeve. All in all, a steal at this price.
