Using this as my light weight rod for trout. Super sensitive and have only missed a couple of fish due to human error. Giving it 4 stars because one of the eye guides got loose. Easy fix, used clear epoxy and fixed it right back on. Other issue is the reel will loosen up if you don’t tighten it after each use daily.

Functional and light with medium tip action. The biggest issue is a large screw area for the reel seat leaving your hand on threads rather than the handle while casting. Also don't lose the plastic cap, because the rod will telescope out without it.

I'm not much of a fisherman (yet), but this rod is certainly good enough for me. I got it specifically for the telescoping feature. It's a 7-foot rod that collapses down to about 18 inches so you can stow it or stick it in your tackle bag. When you expand it to go fishing, you do have to take care to line up the segments properly so the eyelets all match, and you have to be certain that they are all pulled firmly into place. In that same vein, be gentle when you collapse it again so that you don't crack the segments. My only mild criticism is that the handle segment occasionally loosens when I am casting. It's not really a problem; just a little annoying. Overall, I like it a lot!

Just received my 2nd order today. I liked my first pole so much that I ordered the next 2 sizes up (the 9.9 ft SWORD-Rod&Reel-3000 Combo and the 11.9 SWORD-Rod&Reel-GT4000V Combo). I'm really happy with the 2 poles but I didn't receive the correct Reel for the 11.9 ft pole as it should've been the 4000 and I instead, received 2 3000 reels. Disappointed that I'll have to return the largest pole & the extra 3000 reel. Would've been a 5-star review if I didn't have to go through the hassle of a return.

Ryano : poor plastic reel ties, defective glue
So this rod seemed pretty decent until I used it maybe 3 or 4 times. The issue I had out of the box was the plastic cap on the bottom was defective with the glue and twisted right off with no effort. After using the rod I had no luck catching anything until the 3rd or 4th time, and once I got a good hook into a fish the rod ties (which again are glued together into one peice) the glued defected and the rod ties just separated and my brand new reel completely fell onto the ground causing me to lose the fish. I dont understand the point in using two separate plastic pieces vs manufacturing one peice to prevent this exact problem on the most important part of the rod. The rod needs some tlc before im going to attempt to use it again, i will have to reglue all of the plastic pieces. This may have been from improper storage of the rod causing the glue to separate and defect.
