product description
TATULA 200 is the answer to many heavier tackle demands. Reinforced Brass Gearing can carry the load of more powerful quarry and is housed with a Rigid Aluminum Frame and Sideplate. To handle increased torque, a custom 100mm Swept Handle can turn the barrel with greater ease. The handle also utilizes comfortable Soft Touch Knobs. The baitcaster is available in Standard (6.3:1) and High Speed (7.3:1) gear ratios in left or right hand crank. A Matte Black Finish with Red Spider Graphics make this reel a looker. Well designed for deep cranking, punching, flipping, chatter baits, swimbaits, and working a frog.

Questions about Daiwa Tatula 200 TWS Baitcasting Reel
Q:
Is the left handed description for a left hand retrieval or a left handed person? I’m right hand dominant and reel with my left hand
Answer: This one I bought for my father who feels with his right hand. I am right hand dominant like u but I feel left handed like u. This model is for right handed reeling...
Answer: LH is left hand retrieval, I am right handed but use LH retrieval (handle is on the left side)
Answer: Left hand retrieve im a righty and reel with my left too
Answer: It’s for retrieving with the left hand and holding the rod with right hand.
Q:
i want to put 30 pound braided line on this.. how much yards will i get about roughly ? thanks
Answer: 175-200 yards probably
Answer: 185 yards
Q:
Is it the T wing system
Answer: Yes... I believe ALL Tatula’s are.
Answer: Yes it is. TWS
Q:
Is for saltwater ?
Answer: They make a "Coastal" version specific for saltwater.
Answer: You can. I'm using it for fresh water fishing
Q:
how much 15 pound mono would it hold
Answer: About 185 yards according to what I have read. Since a good cast for me would be about 40 yards I have never had to much worry about it.
Answer: Around 110 120 yards
Q:
can this be use saltwater?
Answer: Yes it can be used for salt water, just do not dip it in saltwater, which goes for any reel.
Q:
How much 65lb braid will this reel hold wqnt to use it for my frog rod?
Answer: Not sure... have not tried putting braid on my tatulas yet. Just check to see what your 65# braid is size equivalent to, should give you a close ballpark figure.
Q:
How many yards of 65lb braid will this hold
Answer: Sorry, have not tried braid on the 200 series
Q:
How much line did it fit ?
Answer: LOL... depends on the size line you are using, I put 12lb fluorocarbon line (trilene) and it held approximately 80yards, then again I did not max it out.
Answer: Over 200 yards of 12 lb test
Q:
How much drag does it have
Answer: 13 lbs.
Q:
Can anyone confirm where these are being manufactured?
Answer: I assume Japan.
Q:
Does levelwind disengage on cast (free spool)?
Answer: Yes it disengages when you cast which helps reduce backlash..
Q:
can i use for jigging ?
Answer: You can... but it’s not the best Tatula for that. I would and do use Tatula Flipping Reel. Less line, and smooth. Great for flipping & pitching a jig.
Answer: Yes you can. I have 50lb braided line for my jigs.
Answer: Yes, a good, all around reel.
Q:
Will this reel hold up in saltwater?
Answer: Not sure, I’m using it for freshwater, goto the Daiwa website, I’m sure that question was answered there.
Q:
What are the drag specs for your tatula 200hsl? is it the earlier model with 13.2 lbs, or the late model with 11 lbs?
Answer: I have never paid much attention, although I am sure I knew at one time. I just check a reel by pulling some drag to ensure it isn’t so tight it breaks the line and go with it.
Product reviews of Daiwa Tatula 200 TWS Baitcasting Reel
Dodger Smith : Amazing product!
Amazing product! Feels great in the hand and minimal backlashes.
Jeremy : Great 200 size reel
Great caster with plenty of torque. Great for big line applications. I would definitely purchase again.
A C : Great swim bait and heavy lure reel
I got this used and on sale for $110 and this is the best price anywhere. Throws my big a rigs and heavy lures with ease.
Amazon Customer : Smooth and Good lookin
Just got my tatula today, came in three days, faster than I expected. Box was packed well and nothing was broken. Reel is super smooth and looks absolutely beautiful. Only bad thing I can say is I wish the 200 size was more of a 300 size but I was able to fit 100 yards of 25lb floro anyway. Can’t wait to use this bad boy.
Josh : Solid smooth reel
I originally had the Lew’s Tournament MP but wasn’t a fan of the composite side plates and it felt too light. I already use daiwa spinning reels which I love so I figured I would try the Tatula out.
I gotta say I really like the reel a lot. Its very smooth and rigid. It fits in my hand well and does hold quite a bit of line. It does have all aluminum external parts except for the star drag that is composite which I don’t care for. I ordered an SLP works star drag which is aluminum and fits perfectly. It was about $50 but it’s nice to have a solid aluminum reel. I attached photos and part numbers.
The t wing system does prevent your leader knot from entering the reel but if you shorten you leader it’s not a big deal.
A C : Great swim bait and heavy lure reel
I got this used and on sale for $110 and this is the best price anywhere. Throws my big a rigs and heavy lures with ease.
Jason : Great reel
Great reel, i wanted the arachnid from cabelas but they stopped making it. The arachnid was modeled after this reel so it's what I ordered. The tatula was everything I expected it to be
Partfinder : Excellent
12 out of 10, works great, buying a second!
floyd noack : Good beginner baitcaster
Love this thing. Great reel
Dodger Smith : Amazing product!
Amazing product! Feels great in the hand and minimal backlashes.
