Answer: I use mine for bass finesse fishing using 4 pound test line and very light lures/plastics (1/16 oz or less) on an ultra-light rod. I’m not sure where that would be suitable for saltwater use and I’m not sure of its durability in saltwater.

Product reviews of TSURINOYA BFS - Low Profile - Baitcasting Reel - Left Right Hand 6.6:1 Ultra Light Aluminum Alloy Spool Low Profile Bait Casting Fishing Reels Color Black
Jerry P : How to present a product. Right-left hand does not discribe how this reel is handed
The product might be fine but it is wrong handed for me. Bad discription I selected a star because because I could not submit. I was not able to use the reel because it was wrong handed for me and I was wanting to price a Shimano reel in the first place
R.AMSEY : The jury is still out
I fish for bass 1 to 4 times a week in the PNW with lakes not much deeper than 30 feet in my kayak. This reel is teamed up with a finesse rod and strung with .23 diameter flourocarbon for worms and weightless creature baits. So far throwing light gear has left me all too often with backlash issues although mono or braid may be a reluctant option to fix that eventually. The gear may not be at fault here since moving from spinning gear a year ago there can still be a learning curve on a new reel. To give you an idea of the transition I am trying to manage I am coming from the only other baitcaster I have ever had -the first Shimano Curado out of Japan. So on to this unit - I do like the shallow spool, clicker on the dial to adjust spool tension, colors are great and would be acceptible even for a jewler who happens to be a fisherman. But the weight, the weight on the handle side of this reel is just annoying, it effects how I throw a lure, once again I have been used to under slung reels where being top heavy is a non issue. With weight a little extra it tilts to that side against the wrist you cast which happens over and over throughout the day. The reel itself is of good manufacturing, the anodized items are strong enough to lay the reel down on rocks without a worry and it looks good too. I would now like to find a left handed carbon handle with light weight knobs to see if I can get better casting feel without the feeling of an anchor hanging off the one side of my casts.
Chris D. : Amazing Price that won’t last long. The value and quality are unbelievable.
Amazing entry price for Finesse Baitcaster. Best bargain in quality fishing gear. Check the reviews on Youtube. This baitcaster is amazing.
Allen : Can't believe this reel is 70 bucks!
This baitcaster is great! I can cast lighter lures a mile.
V. Alexis : Cast smooth spooled with 4lbs flora on a 1.5 gram spoon
Good starter bfs reel
Mobin Gurung : Fun reel
I have it paired with a Cabela's ultra light casting rod and I love how it handles light 1/8 oz jig heads and F07 rapala original floating minnows. I like how the spool tension knob clicks. Super easy to fine tune. Saw some reviews on YouTube before buying this and they are right this reel is a must have if you like casting light lures with baitcasters and don't wanna spend too much on BFS Reels. 2.8gm is like the lightest it can cast without any problems.
