How Heavy of a bait with this float handle?

Answer: The weight is not so much of a problem as the type of bait. Shrimp, crawfish, sardines, whitebait, threadfin herring etc will be no problem. A mid-sized pinfish 4-5 inches however will head straight for the bottom and try to get under something. You're only fishing for reds, trout, catfish etc. not a 20 pound grouper.

Answer: I've used an once or so of cut bait and it works fine.

How close to the hook is the float and can I adjust it?

Answer: The float is 7-8 inches from the hook depending where you measure from. There are sleeves crimped on the wire leader on both sides of the float. You could try to round the crimped sleeve if you really wanted to change it, but I've never found that necessary.

Answer: The hook is 6 inches from the float. The distance from the float to the hook is not designed to be adjusted. The slip shot could be adjusted with split shot crimped on the leader. Not sure if this helps. I have caught some decent catfish with this rig.

What size are the hooks?

Answer: There are no hooks. We have a snap on the lure for you to use any size hook that you need.
