Do you use bait with these?

Answer: No I personally do not use bait of any kind with this Lure. What I would recommend is using a soft plastic about 4 inches and hook it with the curl of the tail facing up. I end up using this style when I want to give my presentation almost a life like movement. I use a lot of artificial baits.

I buy these out almost every time. When fished correctly absolutely deadly. Olive is my go to. Quality is very good. Hooks are solid. Tails will wear from bites but that's the idea. On par with Spro. I actually prefer these. Shaddock is a solid mfg of tackle.

If you use the bucktails in saltwater just be aware that fish with lots of teeth will be chasing the buck tail and you might lose a few( use a wire leader about 6 inches with a hay wire twist and a barrel twist). This bucktail resembles a lot of bait fish that Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, blue fish, yellow jacks
