Answer: I have no doubt. I have caught all species of trout with it in that are in my home state. I always have the best luck with the blue/white/ pink rainbow trout pattern or pearl white with red tip. 1/8 ounce or no bigger than a 1/4 ounce in size.

Is the copper lure made out of copper? What is metal content of the copper and nickel lures? I'm wondering if it can be engraved.
Answer: Copper is a soft metal, just like copper plumbing pipe that can be easily threaded. But do it by hand carefully...as in all fine artwork. Good luck; and good fishing ! And it's a great lure !
Answer: No they are plated. I would say if you engraved them it would probably chip off.

Answer: depending where you're fishing, I throw 3/4oz mostly for distance. Rivers may require 1/2 oz or less to avoid snags and cut current better. This is cast and retrieve, they can be trolled too.

The Little Cleo is the most popular casting spoon for anglers fishing the Great Lakes for their famous, large trout and salmon. I have caught brown trout, steelhead, lake trout and coho salmon casting from shore in Lake Ontario near Rochester, NY. The average size is 5 1/2 lbs. This spoon is ubiquitous in that area and catches fish like crazy. Favorite colors nickel/fluorescent orange, nickel/chartreuse, hammered nickel/blue, hammered nickel/green. Best sized for large trout, 2/5 oz and 2/3 oz.

I live in Virginia and fish on private property where a river and creek come together. It is very hard fishing because it's hard to get to the water without being detected by the fish as you walk down the very high and steep banks which makes them very weary to bite anything! I have every kind of lure and bait imaginable and have had very little success with artificial lures at this place which is loaded with fish but half of this summer's catches were from this exact lure! Tons of Smallmouth and monster native Brown trout along with half a dozen Fallfish, one of which was the biggest Fallfish I've ever seen much less caught! The Rainbow pattern and the pearl-white with red tip are GREAT lures and I wouldn't be caught with them or a couple of Rebel Crawfish lures! These things hang walked all over my brand-name Daredevil lures!! Wal-mart sells them for much cheaper than Amazon depending where you live! Right at around $3 each where I live.

It's a great lure. The 1/4 ounce copper is killer for the small Steelhead we get in the coastal rivers - but it's nearly impossible to find in local shops. For some reason, they just don't stock the copper-colored spoons.
They aren't rare or hard to come by, they just aren't what's popular in this area and so - given the economy - aren't kept in stock and we have to chase them down online.
Charging $10 for the 1/4 ounce size is ridiculous. Insulting. I like shopping on Amazon, love the customer service, but other online retailers will sell me all of these I want for one-half, or less, than Amazon's price, and at least one online retailer has customer service just as good as Amazon.

Look at the picture and think what it should look like when you get it. If it were one lure you should be able to click on one of them and see what it looks like and you cannot. I thought I was getting the spoons without hooks as shown and only got one lure with hook and not a color of my choosing.

I ordered three of the gold spoons. One came completely flattened and the treble hook was flattened into 2D as well. Other two look good. Tried to report a damaged product to acme but the website link was broken.
