I want to purchase 4 inch red fin minnows. The ones I want have three treble hook on them your web photo shows two treble hooks. it photo wrong?

Answer: The photos are correct. The ones we have remaining in stock are 7 inches with two treble hooks

what size is this lure from tip to tail

Answer: Get one. As always, depends on the lake, the weather, the wind,, etc , etc. It is a basic for my bait and tackle. Probably 4 to 4 and a half inches. Good action for a lake or large pond. Can't remember exact size. Just know it works given the right situation at the right time like any bait. Should have the exact size on the description of the item on Amazon.

Answer: Yes to both, depends on how quickly you retrieve it. If you crank it quickly it will go down to 2-3 feet. If you bring it in VERY slowly, like we do for stripers at night, it stays on top.

Answer: It is a type of top water lure. It is categorized as a "jerk bait." It floats at rest. If you lightly flip your wrist it will dive just an inch or two. If you retrieve it steadily it will dive to the three foot level. If you stop the retrieve it will slowly surface again. Take advantage of all this and you'll put a fish in the boat. Good Luck!

've used Cotton Cordell Red Fin lures for many years and can attest to their fish catching ability. They can be twiched on top or straight retrived for a wide wobbling action. I sometimes add a sinker 2 or 3 feet ahead of the lure to allow it to run at a desired depth, especially when trolling. Largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike and pickerel are all suckers for this lure. They are also great run off downriggers for Great Lakes trout and salmon. The 7 in., 1 oz. model also works great cast from boat or shore for stripers, bluefish and weakfish (sea trout). I use mostly the chrome/blue and smoky joe color patterns, although walleye seem to go for the gold/orange belly.

Trump Won 2020 : Redfins are fish catchers

Redfins are good lures to catch stripers or bluefish on, cheap as heck too. The issue is though they are too light, so they cast like crap in windy conditions. I melt a pinhole in mine & fill them with mineral oil, till they float the way I want, and give a great casting distance. Seal hole with epoxy. After I load these up, they end up weighing 1.2OZ, swim and cast much much better.

I have used these baits successfully on largemouth bass usually early morning waking the bait across still water. I bought this bait to use in Canada with the intent to "wake" it over weedy bays for Northern Pike. Have used it for two years in a row on my annual week long fishing trip and have yet to catch a fish on it.
