Answer: The weight should depend more on how swift the water is that you will be using it. I use 3/8 ounce because we are fishing in a pretty swift moving current. I use a 4inch swim bait with it.

My husband and I fish for stripers at the ocean, and the wire hooks on these jigs are too weak to withstand fighting a striper - or pretty much any other powerful saltwater fish. We will not be able to use them for this application.

Works well for smaller fish such as bream and small crappie. When catching larger crappie bass or really any fish with size the hooks straighten out extremely easy. I didn’t even need a pair of pliers to bend them back. Other than that the over all quality was pretty good. No other complaints whatsoever.
