How thick is it? How many mil is plastic film?

Answer: My calipers read 2 mil on the clear, non-textured side (2 thousandths of an inch). The textured side is 5.5 mil.

Answer: I would assume so. I have a Kenmore product. They work pretty much the same way.

Answer: Inconsistent. For some reason the first couple of times they worked fine, but then couldn't get them to activate the vacuum no matter how many times I repositioned them.

Answer: I'm not sure what model I have, but I have a food saver and these bags work great with it. They fit in the space designed and seal perfectly.

Will these fit inside the food saver v3840 machine? i got the 50' rls and they are too large to fit inside.

Answer: I save the core from used rolls and make my own smaller roll that will fit in the food saver. They work great and it saves a lot of money.

Will these work with older non-vacuum seal meal units? I find that vacuum units don't work well with soups and other foods with liquids.

Answer: The secret to vac packing liquids is to put them in the bag. Fold over the open top and keep it secure with a bag clip, then put in into the freezer for several hours until the liquid freezes. Then just vacuum seal it and no problems. To use, thaw overnight in the fridge, then put the contents into a Tupperware type bowl and microwave. Easy and effective. This is what I have been doing for years with success.

Answer: No, nothing on the packaging or the bags indicate they are recyclable, but the bags are excellent and heavyweight.

Answer: I don't see why it wouldn't. If it can use foodsaver rolls it should be able to use this. I use it successfully in my Foodsaver 2100.

Answer: The same as far as I can tell. I have no issues at all with these. We store a lot of food so feel good about saving money while doing it. Can't tell the difference. Food comes out of freezer just as fresh as the name brand. I did find that it seems easier to turn the smooth side up when sealing. Hope that helps.

Answer: I am not familiar with the NutriChef sealer. However, they work well with my Food Saver unit and, in my opinion, are just as good (and certainly less expensive!) than the Food Saver brand.

Answer: I am not sure. The food storage system would be where I would check. I use for freezing food. I do know they will lose their seal if you didn't get it good to start with.

Have to give these a very low rating. We went through a roll of them, cut at about 8" and around 25% wouldn't hold a vacuum. Too bad because they were a great value. I'd suggest that they have a quality control issue. Also noticed that they were a stiffer/different plastic material than the ones I purchased about a year ago.

No problems sealing the bags. Good price compared to the name brand. Looks very similar except no white strip to write on, but not a problem cause I use a Sharpie on the bag and it turns out fine. The only issue is that the roll does not fit in the sealer until you have made some bags and the roll gets smaller.

I had purchased from a different vendor which only sold in 50' rolls so I would have to divide in half myself so I can store the roll in the sealer.
When I went to reorder I found these 4 pack of 25' rolls for the same price as the other guys 2 pack of 50' rolls and I gave them a try. So far I have not had any issues sealing various types of food for deep freezing and hope they are still around when it comes time to re-order.

I have a food saver and these rolls are so large that the lid doesn’t close on the unit. No problem, I still use the cutter on the unit and take the roll out when I’m finished using it. Eventually you’ll use enough of the roll to where it will be small enough to close the lid on your food saver.

The reason I rated three stars is because "it's okay". This means the product I received looks okay but was labeled 8" x 25' x 4 rolls and actually measured 11" x 25'. I am assuming 25' per roll because I did not open the package in order to return it to order a different brand that actually measures 8" x 25'.

I found no other way to inform the suppliers of this product that it was labeled wrong. Therefore this review. Who knows if they'll read it???

Vacuum packed several deer roasts, sausages, etc. After a few months, noticed many were no longer sealed.
Not happy or impressed. We saw no reason they were punctured or perforated; just didn’t hold up.

I don’t know if it’s the plastic but it simply did not allow for good suction. I can’t tell if it’s not sealing well or just overall poor suction for the plastic. Maybe it’s the sealer/ vacuum but it only suctions properly 20% of the time.

I bought these to replace my stock. I had one roll that came with my sealer machine and I used all my smaller bags. I ordered these because I knew that I would not have any problems using these three rolls. I vacuum seal so much. I am happy to find that these are the exact same roll that I previously. That means I know how well these will perform to do what I want them to. I am going to get the 11" X 9" as soon as they are back in stock. I recommend these bags for your vacuum sealing needs. BTW, they are reusable too providing you don't use raw meats or greasy. In that case, just get a new bag.

I have a newer version vacuum sealer (2016) that seals 20 year old foodsaver bags without an issue, these will not stay sealed. verified it is not the vacuum sealer by testing with brand name bags and not having an issue. really disappointing to find a steak thats been in a 130 degree sousvide bath has been completely waterlogged because of the quality of these bags. im going back to buying actual brand name bags.

The rolls are fine. Maybe a little thin, but they work. When using with the Food Saver machine, at least mine, you have to have the smooth side up in order to seal them. The ridged side won't. Other than that they work as you'd expect.

Caution!!!! When opening the box DO NOT go deep across the top of the box to open. There is NO cushioning between the top of the box and the rolls. I slit mine and was surprised there was nothing protecting them. They have the air bags on the side is all.

I've only worked partway through my first roll, but so far I'm getting a strong suction and seal. The first length of the roll was a fail (may have had small puncture somewhere), but the rest has worked every bit as well as the more $ FoodSaver rolls I'd been buying and the seal seems to be lasting.

I have gone through one roll so far. So far I haven't run into any problems. I use it with a Food Saver. Haven't seen any difference between the name brand bag material and these. No problem vacuuming, sealing, or staying sealed. As someone else pointed out I seal the bags with the smooth side facing up. I don't know if that makes a difference, but that's what a few reviews said so thats the way I've been using it.

Bought these for my foodsaver, thought my foodsaver vacuum was going bad. Cleaned the unit and gaskets and still not vacuuming. Went out and bought some foodsaver bags and everything is now vacuuming. These bags are ribbed on one side and smooth on the other as foodsaver bags are smooth on both sides allowing a tight seal. Too bad these don’t work, I liked the price.

I waited until I got a good use of these vacuum sealer bags before giving a review.
I used to get the 50 foot rolls with a hassell of unrolling them to cut to length. The 25 foot rolls fit in the Food Saver.
I had read a lot of reviews on these where people had problems with the sealing and holding a vacuum. I had no problem at all. Sealed with the smooth side up and the smooth side down.
It could be that it is possible that the people with the sealing problem did not clean the food from the inside of the bag where the seal will be. That will cause it not to seal. Or had a wrinkle in the bag.
I have stored pork loins, beef roasts, chicken, hamburger meat and steaks with no problem.
I do recommend these Vacuum bags and I will buy more.

I went through half a roll of these trying to get them to work with our Foodsaver. Opened up the vacuum compartment to make sure the seals were clean and still couldn't get these to work.

We hunt, fish and crab through the seasons of the year here and stock up the freezer. These rolls are a less expensive alternative to the name brand. They work as well keeping our food fresh in the freezer. They do not have the white label line but writing on the material with a Sharpie works just as well.

Bought these to try with my Foodsaver because they're WAY less expensive than Foodsaver bags. They pull a tight vacuum and seal well. Time will tell how they protect in the freezer but so far so good. There's no white strip to write on but a Sharpie writes legibly on the clear surface.
