They are nice flies, well made and sturdy hooks but I haven't caught a thing on them yet and I have tried many times. :(

There's nothing to dislike, I wish all my deer-hair muddlers turned out like this. I haven't had a chance to try them on trout, but when I went to a local lake (Fort Patrick Henry Lake in NE TN) and threw them under overhanging trees and other shady areas, the panfish gobbled them up even though the temps were in the 90's and I didn't expect much of a bite. It's very easy to control the depth once the fly is wet, you could fish them anywhere from 3-6" under the surface to as deep as you want with a split shot or two on the tippet. It's truly a versatile fly that every freshwater lake/stream fisherman should have in their fly box in different sizes.
