I lost a bet to fishing buddy of mine because of these things. I didn't believe trout ate mice. Well it cost me $100 dollars to find out. Since then I have found out that really big trout hammer these things especially at dusk. Maybe if you buy these you can make some bets and you can buy more.

Well I finally found cheap bass flies on Amazon that have a freakin weed guard. I'm guessing all the really cheap bass plugs & flies on here are probably made in freakin China & apparently they don't seem to understand the concept of needing a weed guard while fishing for bass, I mean we're talking bass environments, weed guard, duh. Anyway, these have it, plus they're deer hair & hoping will ride higher & better in the water than the cheap made in China plugs that seem 2 get water logged rather quickly. I'll find out soon, will update my review after I fish with these!

TN : Too much hook exposed

If you fish at a low pressure area and the carp have never seen a dog biscuit fly before, this fly will work for a little while.

Once you start using it the carp population will learn to adapt to the fly, or when fishing at a highly pressured area, this fly simply doesn’t work because there’s too much hook exposed, fish can see it and won’t swim anywhere near it. Get the ones tied with minimum amount of hook exposed, the ones that work all the time have around 1/32”-1/16” gap between the hook and the body, whereas this once has about 1/8”-3/16” hook exposed.

The collars could be a bit stiffer and thicker and the heads and collars could be cut smoother and more evenly, which would give them more diving action and keep them moving straight while retrieving, but they're an okay fly if you don't want to spend $15 for a nicer one. The eyes came off pretty quickly, but that's always a challenge when trudging through the salad. The weed guards are junk for the areas I fish, basically 20 or 30lb regular mono, which protects them from maybe some light algae or submerged weeds during the first few minutes of fishing, but not big lilypads and bulrushes or when the fly gets really wet (mono becomes more flexible because it soaks up water). I cut the weed guards off and made my own using 50lb hard mono (a loop at the forward end of the fly, sort of like a double post) and they trudge through the pads with ease.

These are obviously not the same as the nice ones you buy at the fly shop, but they do the job. They're better than paying $14 for something you could lose in 10 minutes on the water.

These are nice deer hair divers. Thet are well tied and haven't unraveled yet. So far i am up to 22 largemouth bass on the first one and it still looks good. Well worth the price
