Can this reel be a good butterfly jigging reel???

Answer: I think it can, though it is not a super high speed reel (5.4:1), so you would have to reel a bit faster. Flat fall jigging would be perfect because you wouldn't reel up too quickly and make the jig spin around unnaturally. I currently use it for a popper setup because of the heavy drag, line capacity and casting ability.

what size reel should I buy for fishing in salt water lagoons and fishing off of a dock?

Answer: Only available options are the 40 & 65. I personally have the 65. Used it for piers, boat & surf. Feels more at home with a beefy boat rod or my 11 ft surf. If you're main fishing is lagoons & docks, you'd be better off with the 55 of this model. The 40 would be a good choice too if you plan on doing a lot of casting. The lighter weight will save your arms

Answer: To swap handle direction, you have to unscrew the handle and remove the handle screw cap on the opposite side as well. Install the handle and screw cap on the desired side and you are ready to go.

What size reel would be best with the Okuma Rockaway 11ft surf rod? I’m planning to use it for plugging.

Answer: I have a penn spinfisher 6500 and an okuma azores 40... but for 11ft I'd bump up to 70. my okuma is way smoother, better drag system. I fish from Alligator Beach FL to Marathon in the keys... Penns spinners are made in China and okuma in Japan... so you're paying a premium for the Penn name. Penn is good no doubt but I'll take an Azores over a spinfisher for my next reel.

Answer: I’d go with a Penn Battle II or a Penn Spinfisher in the 6-7000 range. I’d avoid Okuma reels entirely - utter garbage in my experience, and it was an expensive and frustrating lesson to learn.

Can it work for surf fishing and what size would work best ?

Answer: The Azores will work great for surf fishing. Depending on the line you will be using ( mono / braid), a 65-90 size Azores reel will have the line capacity for making long cast.

Answer: I have the 65 that I double duty. Generally using that on an 8-ft Shimano rod when pier or boat fishing but also use it on a 10-ft Penn rod for surf.

Answer: After one 20lb fish, it won't work reliably for reeling in a 5oz sinker. 6000 size. Maybe if they made one in 49k it would be good for moderate freshwater use. Buy a Penn or Shimano or something

I have a couple of these in 4000 and 8000 sizes. They are in the salt every week and get jostled around pretty roughly, never skips a beat. Maybe not QUITE as smooth as a Stradic, but for this price point, these are amazing reels.
