Is this product available in a wider version? I need minimal 7 inch wide seal bar.

Answer: We have 12 inch bags we seal constantly. It is just a second press moving bag over slightly.

Would this seal heat sealable tea bags that would be used for bath teas ?

Answer: I am not 100% sure what type of bag you use for sealable tea bags. if you use an impulse sealer now, this would work great. the only downfall with this sealer is there is only 2 settings a high and low. however, we would be lost without this sealer in our popcorn store. we use it for 3mm thick plastic bags.

Answer: further looking into tea bags that are heat sealable (can use a clothing iron) this would work well.

can this seal thick plastic like 10 mil(=0.254 mm)?

Can you use this to seal mylar bags?

Answer: Yes this can be used to seal mylar bags.

I see in a review that this was melting a bag on low setting, i have 1.6 mil bopp bags, anyone use on something like that successfully? thank you

Answer: if they are rated heat sealable this should work just fine. the bags are prone to melt if the handle is held down too long on thin mil bags.

How hot can this sealer get?

Answer: It gets more than hot to seal foil coffee bags. We had it sitting on a plastic table and it partially melted the table top. There are two settings.

Answer: There's a high and low but no temp dial so I'm not sure how top answer your question.

Will this sealer work on bags that have openings larger than 6" if you just seal 6" sections at a time?

Answer: for sure!!! we use bags smaller than 6 inches, 6 inches, and some up to 14 inches. we now have two for our shop. we seal about 40k bags a year and have never had a problem with either!!!

Answer: Yes it would. but the unit runs very hot because you can't regulate the temp. Therefore it will most likely burn through the bag on the second time.

Would this work on paper?

Answer: I don’t think it will, it works on the Mylar bags by melting the two sides of the bag together. Paper will not melt.

Answer: If the paper has a sticker/adhesive in it for sealing purposes. If its just Paper it will not.

Is this product commercial grade?

Answer: We are a small wholesale company. We use it for sealing all of our products that are in bags. I feel it is a very good sealer for the cost. Does s great job but you must seal one at a time. Works quick. Count to 5 and it's sealed!!

Answer: It is, up to a point. I just started using mine for commercial purposes and it seems to seal well. However, I find it works best on the lower setting, especially if you are sealing thin poly bags. At the higher setting it melted the poly bag even at just 3 seconds. Hope this helps

Will the seal plastic tubes like open-ended lotion tubes?

Answer: Not sure but would think not. Tubes might be too thick. Check the specs should tell you its life citations and capabilities. All based on thickness. It has multiple heat settings.

Answer: No sorry this will not work. We recommend looking for a tube sealer.

Does this work for 5-layer mdpe stock tubes?

Answer: No this won't seal tubes as this is a direct heat sealer. For tubes, you will want a tube sealer.

Can it seal foil gusseted bags

Answer: we have foil gusseted bags but the foil has an inner layer that is heat sealable. all bags that are heat sealable are usually marked or explained in description as a heat sealable bag.

Would this work on 6mm poly bags?

Answer: Yes

Is this the same unit that uline sells for $140?

Answer: I didn't see this in my uline book but i have used this for 3 years and it is awesome! Uline is way too expensive on items and i highly recommend this unit.

What's the maximum thickness it can seal?

Answer: There is two heat settings, the highest heat setting goes thru some pretty thick bags. We use occasionally in our store the paper coffee/bakery bag that is laminated, it is thick it goes thru that no problem (that is 5.5 mil) The lower heat settings work great for 3 mil or less.

Worked fine 1st time, now melts everything on low setting. Is this normal?

Answer: What type of bag are you using? If you are using a poly bag then this direct heat sealer won't work for your application.

Would this seal a PVC fabric?

Answer: Unlikely

what kind of bags does it seal?

Answer: Any kind of heat seal able laminate bag, doesn't work well on plain PE, you would want an impulse sealer for that.

Answer: This sealer is great! We have an indoor pool with a leather top casing. We removed the leather and has to replace the plastic because it was starting to crack. We used a medium mil plastic and the sealer worked great. The area we sealed is a 20’ x 8’. Hope this helps.

This works really way for what I need, it just takes a long time to heat up.

I ordered this to seal bags that contain my home made dog treats for my business. I like that it is portable and lightweight for easy transportation and use in different rooms. It can be handheld or sit on a table for use. There are 2 temperature settings, high and low and heats quickly and seals the bag in 1-3 seconds! Very fast.
