How durable is the PVC, is it stonger than rubber?

Answer: The PVC net is more durable than rubber. I have been using mine nearly every week for over 3 years and it's still intact. My husband had a black rubber net that had developed several breaks (UV damage from the sun). He lost it last month. We'll be replacing it with this one.

Answer: Depends on how you take care of it. I have had mine going on 2 yrs. now. About every 6 months I spray it down with silicon and I don't leave it out in the sun. I have not had a problem yet. I have never owned a rubber one so I can't make a comparison.

Answer: Very durable. I think it is stronger

How deep is the net?

Answer: I'm not sure what the depth is. However, I am a little disappointed that it is too shallow to fit a 30 inch redfish in it....or any fish longer than 30 inches. But it is light-weight, and hooks don't get stuck in it. It is a great net for smaller fish.

Answer: Not very deep, I added a picture to my review showing a 14 inch largemouth bass in the net.

CRAPPIE FISHERMAN : Great Net--Tangle Free Net SO FAR

This net is a lot better than the cloth nets. I have dip up over 100 Crappie and Bass with it and have not had one tangle with the line or hook caught in the net. I am sure it will at some point but so far so good. Going to order 2 more nets because my friends that fish with me like it also.
I had rather be fishing than trying to untangle the line in the net. GREAT NET

The net its self is great, but the handle and frame are a bit flimsy and not as big or sturdy as I would have liked. I think this net would work perfect for fresh water lake fishing , but I wanted to use it for salt water fishing on my kayak

Great lightweight, sturdy net. Big enough to land nearly any fish (i can catch) and different enough from other nets, that it doesn't get picked up by accident by other nearby anglers. The handle is sturdy enough to give trout a whack before cleaning.
Why 4 stars? Because there needs to be a clip, like there is when you extend the net to keep it secure.

This net is of good quality if your using it for smaller pan fish it would be great, for bass fishing it is to small! Hoop is small and net is shallow.

robert lightfritz : Soak it in a vinegar solution for 24 hours

This is for the people who think that the net material stinks. Simply soak it for 24 hours in a fairly strong vinegar and water solution. It will then smell like vinegar, so either soak or wash it in a good dishwashing liquid like Dawn, and your problem is solved. Also in Reading More reviews kayak fisherman complained that it is not floatable. Simply cut a piece or a couple pieces of pool float and zip tie them to the handle. Problem solved

This net is of good quality if your using it for smaller pan fish it would be great, for bass fishing it is to small! Hoop is small and net is shallow.

The hoop has 2 screws holding the hoop to the handle. One was missing and the other was stripped. I re-drilled the missing screw as the existing hole was misaligned, and found a larger screw for the stripped hole. All materials are light duty! this was easier than returning for another net.

I love this net, it feels and looks much nicer than what we paid for it! I have several nets for fly fishing and landing nets for the boat, but this is my favorite. It looks and feels well made, and I am impressed by the quality. It is much nicer than I expected for the price I paid. If I knew how nice it was, I would have expected to pay much more. The rubber net is especially nice when I catch large fish that I want to release because the fish don’t get hurt. I also love that my hooks do not get stuck in the net.

I love the net, size and features along with price. But this rubber STINKS !!! It smells like burning rubber any time it is in the car and it is completely obnoxious to the point I don't even want to bring the net when I go fishing. STINKS STINKS STINKS.

Being a commercial fish farm, we are rough on nets. We understand the limitations on light duty landing nets like these and this review is aimed at the average (consumer) user. Sometime our commercial duty nets (which weigh over 10 lb) are overkill for moving a few smaller fish. So we like to have these very light nets around for just that purpose.
This landing net is sturdy and is a great value compared to what you will find in a brick and mortar store. The pvc (rubber -like) netting is perfect for ornamental fish like koi,, or where preserving slime and scale is paramount. It will not transfer pathogens as easily as woven netting too.

The only downside for us is the white color, which fish instinctively try to avoid. We will compare it to the black rubber nets (more costly) and report back on the longevity.

This net is the best I have owned, to date. I have been using landing nets with either nylon or cotton netting, that hooks always found their way into. It would take precious fishing time away, untangling the lure, and sometimes made getting the fish returned to the water safely a challenge.

This net has prevented many tangles and had allowed for a very quick and speedy return. The handle collapses into the net for easier storage, however it is still fairly large. The size in storage, outshines the speed at which we can release our fish, unharmed and fishing again.

It is a great fishing net for fish anywhere from 2-12pounds I don't know if I would test it on anything bigger than that. Was a little flimsier than I thought but super light to carry because of the aluminum ! Great plastic mesh net by the way though, good size too !
