Questions about Lunkerhunt Lunker Frog – Freshwater Fishing Lure with Realistic Design, Weighs ½ oz, 2.25” Length
Q:
How many ounces is this lure?
Answer: I am guessing it's 2 ounces. the frog body is 2 inches and width is 1/2 inch. very light. sorry I couldn't help more.
Answer: THE 2-1/2" WEIGHS 1/2 OZ AND THE 1-3/4 OZ WEIGHS 1/4 OZ. I MUST ADD THOU THESE FROGS WILL CATCH A LOT OF BASS, AFTER YOU CATCH SOME BIG FISH YOU MIGHT LOOSE A LEG OR EVEN BOTH LEGS . BUT LET YOU HEART NOT BE TROUBLED I HAVE CAUGHT A LOT OF FISH WITH BOTH LEGS RIPPED OFF AND STILL USE THESE SAME FROG TODAY. THIS IS MY BEST FROG TO USE WHEN NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK, LOVE THIS BAIT.
Answer: 12 oz
Answer: 12 oz
Q:
can you run a trailer hook on it ?
Answer: A trailer hook will most certainly fit on this lure, but the action of the lure might be altered slightly depending on the size and weight of your trailer hook.
Answer: Probably but that would catch more weeds. The hooks are pressed against the hollow frog body so it’s weedless
Answer: Probably..its basically a metal chain that leads from the eyelet to the double hooks. if you could attach a leader with a trail hook
Answer: You can add a stinger hook, it only slightly effects the action upon retrieve. It’s a good addition and makes the hookup ratio a lot better.
Answer: Its soft. Easily breakable
Q:
How can I change my order to the peal frog?
Answer: Your have to request from customer service or edit order of it hasn't shipped yet
Q:
What color belly does the green tea frog have?? is it a lighter green or yellow?? thanks..
Answer: Mines grayish and yellow. Check out this New Bass kit By Black Fly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DGP6YPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_m9VYBbM7QZCR0
Answer: The frog has a yellow belly.
Answer: mine has a grey/yellow bottom
Answer: Yellow belly.
Q:
New in box?
Answer: Of course
Q:
What color is the belly on the black frog?
Answer: The black Texas Toad has a black belly. The black poison has yellow accents just like the top does.
Q:
The product seems to contain lead and/or dinp. is it at a level that can cause irritation/cancer if exposed to skin over a long period of time?
Q:
What is the hook size ?
Answer: Sorry - gave it as a gift, but I was surprised how large the hook was for the size of the frog. Will definitely be for a LARGE fish.
Answer: Enlarge the photo. The hooks are flush at the top sides, facing forward.
Answer: it's a double hook and i'm guessing it is equal to a 3/0
Q:
do you use any type of weight ?
Answer: No weight. The large size will cast a long ways. The small you need a light line to cast very far but as you use them they will get a little water inside and cast farther. They usually still float just not quite as high but you can squeeze them ever so often to purge the water out. No weight needed though.
Answer: No, tie it on some braided line and work it over heavy cover or walk the dog with it in open water.
Answer: no.
Q:
Can you show what the belly's look like? The fish don't care about what color the top. I need something with a black belly any suggestions?
Answer: Texas Toad has a black belly & Poison has Black & yellow. Hope this helps!
Answer: the belly on mine is light cream color
Q:
Is there any latex to this product?
Answer: I dont think it is actual latex, but it is a very rubbery spongy material. Nothing shows me for sure what though. Thank you.
Q:
how many to a package?
Answer: One per package and we sell lot of Lunkerhunt
Answer: 1 pcs. You get what you pick. Quality worth the money. Mine landed multiple catches and is fine. At some point I'll need to re-order it.
Answer: 1 unit per pack
Answer: Just one. Try the Spider it has produced a lot of bass
Answer: One. And it's incredibly realistic! Had some smallmouth slam this thing!
Answer: 1
Answer: One
Q:
What color usually seems to catch the more larger less commen sized fish
Answer: Man that's a loaded question !! so many factors ! but if where you fish has frogs in the water, use something more realistic to your environment and start there !
Answer: Most of my catches have been on the darker colors but I have all the colors that were put out on the market so I will have to get back to you on the lighters.
Answer: The color makes virtually no difference, but I've caught more fish with a dark colored frog. It's easier for the fish to see. The top of the lure can look any way, it's the color of the belly that matters. It's best to cast these along shorelines and walk it back slow in the late summer or spring. Trim the skirts for faster action.
Answer: any of the colors are equally effective. Just depends on where you are fishing and what's in there.
Q:
What’s the best way to rig this frog?
Answer: I use 50lb braid tied directly to frog. This allows it to be pulled through the vegetation with ease. Hope this helps!
Answer: This is pre-hooked, just tie it to your line and you are ready to go.
Q:
What seems to be the most common and productive colors
Answer: I use the Texas Toad (black) starting around 5pm... Before that, a lighter color, usually Green Tea or Croaker. Bass really blow up over these! Hope this helps!
Answer: Smallest one with orange on belly
Product reviews of Lunkerhunt Lunker Frog – Freshwater Fishing Lure with Realistic Design, Weighs ½ oz, 2.25” Length
Bufoon : Like it
Works well, good action, got the top water blow ups
Chuck Whitted : Can't wait to try it!
This rubber frog has the hooks in it to catch a big fish. I can't wait until the weather warms up to try it!
See Thao : Funny
my brother and i were using this and it looked so funny in the water, couldnt stop laughing becasue it legs were swimming like a helpless person, so funny how the legs were moving. wish i took a video.
BAL : Great
As expected
Samson : Not durable
I threw the lunkerhunt pocket frog on Labor Day. First time using it, hooks kept coming off the body, already a hole in the belly.
Judd Dvorak : Legs come off very easily
Well it looked great in the water before I made my 1st cast. Then a bass swiped at it on that 1st cast and ripped one of the legs right off. Not exactly sturdily constructed I would say. To say I didn’t get my money’s worth is a gross understatement.
DR : Great product
Great product
Bry : Too delicate.
Used this frog lure tonight. Got maybe 12 casts out of it before the metal screw weight tore out of the body. Once this happens..your lure will sink and behave in a useless way. Up until then it work wonderfully. Now its useless..not worth .70 a cast!
Andrea Ramirez : Gets full of water
The frog swims nicely but gets full of water and stops floating every few throws and its annoying to have to keep emptying it out.
gary : Very lifelike
Largemouth bass bite good but the two hooks need to be bent so they don't. Get off
Amazon Customer : does not correctly float
pretty sure these are not true lunker hunt frogs they "do the back stroke" when swimming to much weight on one side causes to flip over and will not "walk the dog" disappointed.
Kit_Kat : Five Stars
Hubby loves his frog. Going fishing.
Naz : Nice Frog Lure
It really does look like a real
Frog swimming
Andrea Ramirez : Gets full of water
The frog swims nicely but gets full of water and stops floating every few throws and its annoying to have to keep emptying it out.
Debbie : Two casts... two bass
Two casts... 2 bass. What more can I say. Tossed on top of lily pads and they got hit as soon as they dropped in the water. They look real, the legs move like a real frog and the bass love it
Frances V. Foley : Haven't hooked a fish....
Used often but still haven't HOOKED a fish even though they do go after ig.
AMPMAN777 : not to bad
The only issue is they fill up with water and sink at times like every 3 cast
Chuck Whitted : Can't wait to try it!
This rubber frog has the hooks in it to catch a big fish. I can't wait until the weather warms up to try it!
Alexander H. : Fills with water fast
It’s a good lure but mine was defective after catching 1 small bass it now fills with water and the back end sinks, not allowing it to glide correctly anymore. I knew this wouldn’t last for long but 1 fish that’s just sad!! Lunkerhunt?? And it wasn’t even a lunker dude an 8 incher
B. Goodman : Major Disappointment
I gave this frog 2 stars just for the beautiful color and finish, but the performance is crap. Maybe I caught a bad one, it happens, but mine lists to the right and turns right with every forward move. It ain't gonna catch anything, and I'm out 8 bucks. I want to try the smaller one, but now I'm scared to spend the money.
AMPMAN777 : not to bad
The only issue is they fill up with water and sink at times like every 3 cast
Ellie : Seemed good quality!
Seemed good quality but got cought on a log and lost it on first cast!
Austin : I an VERY satisfied with this frog
I hear lots of people saying how the legs rip off when you get a hit. Mine however did not have this issue. I an VERY satisfied with this frog, and I highly recommend it as a "starter" frog. I have caught plenty of bass on this frog, most of them ranging from 3 - 9 lbs. Just make sure to give it a second or two before setting the hook!
Kenneth Reilley : Excellent quality.
The graphics are awesome, the hooks are sturdy and sharp, and the action is extremely realistic. It's able to come through most weed patches cleanly, only picking up stray bits of plant material once in awhile.... my leader knot picked up more weeds than the lure did. I squeezed out excess water every few casts, but there was never much inside it... I probably could have casted it a couple dozen times without squeezing it, it's just a habit I developed using lower-quality lures on the past.
Well worth the money.
Thad : Looks like a real frog in the water.
Great in water action. No success this past summer with it though.
Jennie72c : I so small.
It always surprises me how small the item is. And how much bigger the picture makes it look. I guess the screen does add a few pounds.
Cruxstew : Phenomenal look and action, poor quality material.
This bait (Bull Style, 2.5") was working awesome. I fish the same spot in a local lake where the bass are notoriously sensitive and nothing has ever been as hot as this was, for the few minuets I was able to fish with it. I hooked one huge largemouth that was so big my line tension-er, all the way down, on a spinning rod and reel (I know, I know), wasn't strong enough and the bass got tangled up on some pads and worked itself loose before I could bring it in. The next cast and catch was a smaller 3-pounder. Then the third cast and resulting explosion was huge but when I tried to set the hook, two seconds later, I pulled the frog out of the bass's mouth with only one leg. I didn't get a single hit from that point on and had to switch baits to my old, not so effective, alternate, same color, frog.
Other reviewers have indicated that the legs of this frog get hung up on pads. I can confirm, this lure is difficult to fish on pads. It does get stuck more often than the other types of frogs.
I'm returning this one-legged one for a new one and will be trying my luck, at that spot again, with its replacement. I'll report after I give it another shot.
Jake D : Doesn’t work as I expected it
It seems none of the 15-20 inch large mouth bass in my pond will bite on it, and they love real frogs. Maybe it’s just too big but nothing will bite. The quality is amazing and if you keep the hooks up it’s an amazing weedless lure.

Leanna : Gets through weeds well but no bites
Not sure frogs are worth it.
Will Zytka : Working good so far
Swims like a champ - happy to say I still have the legs after several fish.
TMS : Snakehead killer
Perfect for snakeheads. Works like a charm.
Debbie : Two casts... two bass
Two casts... 2 bass. What more can I say. Tossed on top of lily pads and they got hit as soon as they dropped in the water. They look real, the legs move like a real frog and the bass love it
Bill from Denver, PA : A Decent Frog. But With Some Minor Issues
I got this frog because it looked realistic. And had good reviews. I have yet to catch anything with it. But I don't blame that on the lure. But there are two minor annoyances. First, it collects water. Some hollow frogs do. But this one is the worst I have. Most of mine collect none. Or close to it. After every cast, you have to squeeze the water out. Or it will sit really low in the water. Or sink. Which is ok if that is what you want. But I normally don't. maybe I am wrong. Second, one of the logs hangs differently than the other. Normally I would not care. I have tried adjusting it. but it goes right back to the way it is. I wouldn't care. But it affects how it swims. Maybe it is supposed to do this. I have not fishing with frog lures much. But none of the other brands that I won do either of these two things. So I am suspicious it is not supposed to. If I am wrong please comment. Outside of these two minor issues, it seems well made and I think it seems like it will hole up. I hope it is not much longer until I catch my fist bass on this lure.
Rob : Nice!
Very realistic! Worked great!
gary : Very lifelike
Largemouth bass bite good but the two hooks need to be bent so they don't. Get off

tony.chad.6 : Awesome!
Can't beat these frogs. This is my new goto frog for the season. Dead sticking, slow twitches, or constant retrieves near cover or even in open water has worked great. over 50 bass without losing legs or having the hooks poke holes. GET SOME!
Michael D : Three Stars
gets hit but impossible to set
Thad : Looks like a real frog in the water.
Great in water action. No success this past summer with it though.
stephen mattison : Smaller size frog will hook the little guys too.
If the fish in your spot are a little smaller these will catch them along with the big boys.
Frances V. Foley : Haven't hooked a fish....
Used often but still haven't HOOKED a fish even though they do go after ig.
Kris : Excellent lure
I have caught some really nice bass with this frog! Particularly, the way that the legs draw up to the frog and make a compact target, make the target easier for the bass to suck it down and get hooked (IMO). I've also caught multiple very nice snakeheads on this frog I highly recommend it!
Amazon Customer : Great Frog!
Bass absolutely crushed this frog. Hooks set perfectly in the top of the mouth. Only downsides are that it does fill with water a tad (so every couple casts i squeeze it out), and it took me a minute to figure out the reeling/action method. Reel it a tad to align it then jerk for the action and repeat. Other wise it wont splash and it will swim in odd directions.
Seems pretty durable.
Used with 50lb braid on a medium heavy 7’ rod.
rick : very good product
realistic, great quality, met my expectations, I am satisfied
DR : Great product
Great product
mike : Nice topwater lure
Great for water with heavy vegetation
TJS : Five Stars
works great
