SNIPER-MAX : Misses. Was not expecting it to be built on fishing line instead of wire.

I had high hopes for this lure. The first thing I noticed was it was built with fishing line, and it had no split ring at the end of the unit. It is just a few inches of fishing line at the top of the unit. This means if the line (spine) of this lure snaps in the middle (fish pulls hook?), this entire expensive lure will dissemble.

I added a snap to the top and then fished it. It is too light, and needs weight to be flung anywhere even with ultralight gear. Now I added some split shots and fished it like a fluke rig. It still stayed on top of the water column and never got deep, I can imagine adding even more weight forward of it will help but I am sure that will destroy its action. The one positive is the blade spun freely. Several rainbow trout attacked this lure in one pool, I saw the attacks, flash of bellies but none of them hooked up to the single j hook on the back of the unit. Would imagine they struck mid body or front where the wedding ring is. One was at least 20 inches.

Once I saw the big guy try three times and miss three times, I changed lures and immediately connected with other lures. It’s already hard finding the fish, but not connecting after finding the fish and even tricking the fish to take your lure is another story!! It’s not worth it!!

Now, I can change that j hook to a treble or do something else, but by the time I take this lure part built on fishing line— I could have built my own wedding ring lure???

This lure needs improvements. I have no confidence fishing it, and I am an avid fisherman, I fish everything and catch everything. I have the gear and the experience to back up the story here since I also use other types of lures and know what works and there are misses because of the lure even with change up of speed and presentation.
