Doesn't work as good as advertised. First cast with it and I caught a fish but after that I have not caught a single other fish with it. 3 stars is generous in my opinion

This product didn't work.

This product was used for several hours in the same spot 4 trout were cought a week earlier at a local lake. The hatchery dust was applied to several types of trout "power bait" without any results. I'll continue using it and try it with other baits.

Used this product at Corona Lake yesterday with my son. We caught 3 good size trout using this dust. We had 5 poles in the water with reg power bait, plastics and power bait with dust. All fish were caught with the dust infused bait. Didnt catch fish in 15 seconds like the videos, but caught all 3 in about a 2 hour period, It wasnt magic, but it seemed to give us that extra edge. Would def use agian.

Well today was the first time I tried the hatchery dust and as soon as I applied it to my power bait and tossed it out bang fish on but after that I never got another bite all day, all I can say is the fish I caught must have been swimming by yawning. I really don't know if it was the hatchery dust or the flavor of the power bait I was using. Anyway I will try a couple more times before I say its crap. So good fishing guys and gals and good luck.

This is a superbait for trout. Specially great for stocker trout. Pairs well with any dough bait or soft plastic lures.

Particular Consumer : Not What I Expected At All...

This product continues to get pumped up on the manufacturers you tube vids. All these vids are shot at Corona Lake in CA, which is a private lake that is stocked daily with some trouts at nearly 20lbs. Unfortunately, if you take this product and try to use on stream fish, they dont even flinch! Although the other reviewers rated this product low, I still decided to try. Essentially, you can buy a much larger bag of KOI pellets or Oscar food from your local pet store and grind it up yourself with some glitter. This would yield the same result for much cheaper. Either way, did not work in 3 different streams, 2 rivers, and 4 lakes in the Sierra Nevadas...

Trial 1:
I used this over a week, fishing was very hot and I and anyone using the correct set-up was limiting out. Tested side by side against powerbait of same color (1 rolled in this, one not) we both limited out in approximately 4 hours. I'm not sure on this stuff, maybe try it again when the bite is harder, might be good for using up last seasons powerbait.

Trial 2:
I tried this out with a buddy on Riffe lake in Washington. We both used Powerbait dough, I rolled mine in the dust, he did not. 4 hours of fishing and he caught 4 trout, I caught 1. I don't believe that this works.

Conclusion:
They are right, it should be illegal or at least the claims they make should be.

I used it on marsh mellows and power bait and didn't get a very good response. The dust doesn't stick to the bait very well. Not sure about its effectiveness.

Once you wet your power bait and roll it around in the dust it comes off as soon as it hits the water!! I just threw mine away. Could of just bought more wax worms.

I recently bought this stuff on a whim and expected it to be like the other typical gimmicks that don't work but surprisingly this stuff works when all other baits don't! There have been lunkers in my local streams that anglers have been after for weeks. I was able to catch them first cast with this stuff coated on yellow Power Bait pellets.

I came here to order more as it is currently out of stock at my local store and was surprised at all of the negative reviews. It seems like a lot of the negative reviews are from people who just don't know how to fish or use this stuff properly. I see a lot of complaints that it doesn't stick to Power Bait. This is true if you apply it to a dry pellet. You need to dip the pellet in the water before applying. Once you wet the pellet, dip it directly in the jar of hatchery dust and roll it around good while pressing the powder into the pellet a bit. This will last even in streams with a decent current.

There was no difference in using this product or not. It's a hassle, a mess, and simply doesn't do anything. I suggest not wasting your time and money on it.

This stuff works very well for STOCKED trout sometimes when powerbait by itself isn't enough. But most of the time just powerbait dough by itself works just as well.

When i saw this on the web i totally didn't expect it to work. My husband and I have gotten suckered by many fishing gadgets and such that were awful and did not do what they said they would. But I am glad to say this one really works and on all species of carnivorous fish. We have been pleasantly surprised and will buy again as needed. Works in rivers, lakes and ponds.. havent used it in ocean waters yet, but will soon....
