Will flatheads bite on this?

Answer: I have heard of people catching flatheads on it. But normally flatheads go for live bait. I wouldn't get this specifically to target flatheads. Its an awesome bait for all other catfish species and stays on the hook really good in current.

Answer: I couldn’t get it to stay on a treble hook! Very disappointed! Would not buy again!!

do you get all 5 baits at this price?

Answer: No that is for one gallon of minnow only

Is it dry or liquid

Answer: It's about the consistency of peanut butter filled with cattails to keep it on the hook

Answer: It's neither. It's has just enough moisture/oil to work with the mixture in order to allow you to form a nice bait ball on a treble hook. It works well when casting long distance.

Answer: It's like a thick paste.

Answer: It will keep a long time. I've had a jar for well over a year. No refrigeration required.

Answer: if you mean on the hook a long time.. and i have some stored in the freezer .. that over 5 years old and still good..

Answer: Depending on water conditions, Flows, debris etc it -and Catfish Activity I’d say Usually lasts 10-15 Minutes

Do you have to use a sponge with it?

Answer: Punch baits just get molded onto a hook (probably a treble). They are too stiff to saturate anything like a sponge. But some of the so-called "dip" baits may be different.

What is inside of the monster bait like what’s the flavor ?

Answer: It’s a blend and mix of who the heck knows! Lol

Answer: I like using the minnow kind it's work well I catch fish every time with this bait

Answer: In general, punch baits sink right to the bottom; of the several brands I've tried, none of them float.

Answer: You probably could. But that is not what its designed for. Its made to be fished with a treble hook.

This stuff stinks like crazy, but u will catch plenty. FYI don’t get it on your hands. Use gloves please. The smell is hard to wash off.

This is a "punch" catfish bait--meaning that you're supposed to use a stick to punch the treble hook down into the bait then pull it up--that is supposed to put a gob of bait on the hook. But in practice this procedure doesn't really work very well--you have to use a flat stick or paddle to help form the bait around the hook (or get your fingers stinky doing the job the old way). But on the plus side, this bait does seem to be very effective on channel cats; it may be the best bait of its kind that I've tried.

I've used CJ's in my home state of Texas and all the way up in Illinois. Consistently catches catfish in the 1 to 12 pound range. By far the best catfish bait I have ever used.

This is the best bait I’ve ever used for catfish. Caught an eleven pound blue channel catfish on the second reel-in within ten minutes of casting. After you’ve got the scent of the bait in the water keep casting in the same area and bam you’ll start reeling them in left and right! Within a two hour period me and my friend caught twelve fish in a local pond. I’m going to stick with this bait. Remember it’s punch bait so you punch the hook in the bait with a stick and smooth over the hole you punched in the bait. Just pull out the bait and you should have a decent sized chunk without getting it all over your hands! Personally I studied the internet a bit to find a good catfish bait and I found this, I will be sticking with this bait and have caught plenty of fish in the past few nights. Can’t wait to try the other flavors when the fish start to get used to it after a while, who knows maybe they won’t! But still would like to try Cj’s other punch baits. Easy to use, and seriously have never caught so many fish in unison, complete MONSTERS that put up one hell of a fight! I’ve used chicken livers in the same ponds, caught a few off that, this bait definitely gets more hits than anything I’ve ever used anywhere.

This stuff really is pretty good, the first time we used it we got three really nice ones. We have been having trouble getting them to hit anything is a pond we were fishing so decided to try this. It works so well we ordered another scent while we were fishing.

If you know how to use punch bait and you’re in an area that has channel cats this stuff works, and works well. The shad “flavor” is more oily than the others and is my personal favorite due to that, however they all work, and smell, nearly the same. It holds onto a hook incredibly well and occasionally you can use the same bait for multiple fish. What else could you ask for?

I purchased elsewhere because I didn’t realize amazon had it at the time but I wanted to review since there wasn’t many... we have had great success with the crawdad, minnow and good success with the monster. The greatest thing is it’s self life - no freezing or having to run to the store for liver etc. in long run it’s alot less expensive and it does a great job with eating size channels! We fish stationary from the bank on rod and reel and also lots of limb lines. The product would not work in river current - it is a punch bait after all but in the lake it’s super easy to use. Add some cattail fluff if it’s gets runny or some vege oil if it dries out. #4 treble hooks Hold it well even casting.... good luck!
