Answer: 8 foot diameter would be a small cast net. An 8 foot radius would be 16 feet side to side, quite a beast to throw.

Answer: Not sure what "fake weight" is but yes, it is lead.

Answer: Yes its square but like a diamond pattern. Sent mine back because the sink rate was way to low

It gets two stars because it works as designed. I have been using bait casting nets for years. This net is extremely thin. It ripped very easily. I have had to mend it multiple times and I have only used it 5 times. Very disappointed. I would have returned it but the manufacture states you can not return if it has been in water. How else can I assess its capability. I will never purchase from this manufacturer. There are better out there. I still have my 4 foot casting net that I started with. Same waters. Same throw etc. not one rip or problem.

Great bday gift for avid fisherman 13 yr old grandboy. He wanted a decent size casting net for bait fish. He’d had a smaller one without much success. With this one, he could practice throwing the net on the lawn until he felt ready to actually use it. Love!

Was a decent net. However the mono line gets tangled and doesnt let the net close on the retrieve. Also have to constantly pull and untangle mono line just to get a cast in. I have started a refund. But would like to hear if anyone else has this issue? Should I buy another and hope it's not defective?

Can't find anything wrong with the net, good size and seems a good build. It is certainly a better quality product than I am a thrower. Nice this about using a large net like this (8 foot rad) even if I don't throw it perfect, and it does not expand all the way, it's still a large circle.
