Answer: PERSONALLY, I WOULDN'T OWN A 6' TWO PIECE CHERRYWOOD ROD. THEY LACK THE "FEEL" OF A ONE PIECE. AS TO WHY YOU CAN'T GET THEIR ROD IN TWO PIECE, YOU'LL HAVE TO ASK THE MFGR.

Answer: I MAY NOT BE THE BEST PERSON TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. I OWN 6 CHERYWOOD RODS LT WEIGHT. THEY ARE ALL ONE PIECE. I USE THEM TO CATCH CRAPPIE, 10" MINIMUM, LARGE SHELLCRACKERS, AND STOCKED TROUT 1-4 POUND RANGE. I HAVE THEM MATCHED WITH SHIMANO ULTRA LIGHT REELS. THEY DO NOT FAIL ME IN THIS ENDEAVOUR. TWO PIECE RODS LACK CONSISTANCY IMHO. HOPE THIS HELPS.

A nice little lightweight rod for getting the most out of playing a fish. I bought my first 7' Berkley Cherrywood rods 40-50 years ago and still use one of those originals for mackerel fishing today! I am not a fan of the split handle design but because it's a Cherrywood will overlook that.

The rod I bought from Amazon came snapped in two and the top half wasn't even in the box. I purchased the same rod at a local retail store and it performed well. Put it through the paces pulling snagged lures, hitting over hanging branches, etc with no damage to the rod at all. It was sensitive enough that I could feel the lure bouncing off the rocky creek bottom. Minus one star because it is about as ugly as a fishing can get. Other than that, would definitely recommend.
Edit: 10/9/16 Removed a star. Was trying to unsnag a lure today and rod snapped in half. Great rod for the money but pretty fragile. First rod I ever snapped and I have been fishing a long time.
