Will the Shimano Tranx 400 be a good match for this rod?

Answer: The Trax 400 will be just fine for this rod. If you check YouTube there’s a couple of post with guys using the Lexa 400.

Answer: 40-60 lbs I run 80 pound braid with 100 lbs fluorocarbon line. These are beutiful rods and handle extremely well with big fish on the other end

Answer: I believe it is rated up to 50 pounds. This is a very sturdy rod for only big fish. If you're considering it for inshore or smaller species , it's just too much. Bit of your going after fish tart are over 20 to 40 plus pounds this rod is able to pull them in..

would this be a good rod to troll for striped marlin? 40-100 lb tuna on small boat not big overnight party boat

Answer: It works in troll mode. Also in drop mode. The big if is not to exceed line weight. I load my reels with 50# braid. I use it in Aruba.

Answer: It's about 36 inches- the bag is worthless if u are looking for protection for travel. I bought a fishing pole tube from bass pro that holds their Extreme line of take down poles and it for perfectly. The Bass Pro tube offers good protection and fit in my large luggage bag for a trip to alaska.

This is my 4th Okuma Nomad. I bought this for the Solterra Reel I have. I took it to Maine last week & caught over 30 Cod at 100-300' catching 5 double hook ups. The rod works well for jigging. A big selling point is portability & two tip options. I plan to take this to Aruba for some deep water trolling. Sturdy product & bullet proof in Saltwater. Check out the Inshore series Nomads. These rods perform as well as 1 or 2 piece rods.
