Are the legs spring return or spring deployed? The description says it is spring return, but the picture looks like its spring deployed (after a push)

Answer: Yea you can. It mounts to your rifles factory sling mount. But the bipod has one machine into it if you want to carry a sling.

Kurt R Watson : A few squabbles on an otherwise fine bipod

I purchased this bipod specifically for the pivot and traverse features, and these both function well. Unfortunately, they don't function independently (that is to say you can't have free horizontal movement without the rifle flopping over because only one bolt immobilizes both). But the most frustrating thing with this bipod is the small amount of wobble/play after tightening the bolt down. If you are looking for a rock solid bipod, keep looking. You may have to spend a lot more though.
