Questions about Wevac Chamber Vacuum Sealer, CV10, ideal for liquid or juicy food including Fresh Meats, Soups, Sauces and Marinades. Compact design, Heavy duty, Professional sealing width, Commercial machine
Q:
has anyone used a 10 x 13 vacuum bag successfully using the CV10 ?
Answer: Its very tricky. I would say the 10x12 would probably be the largest size to still easily get it to close and seal properly without some part going past the seals. I use 10x10 bags because I couldn't easily find the 10x12 bags so I am not 100% sure that they are easier but 10x10 bags are great.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does this have a external port for use with canisters?
Answer: No
Q:
what is the height inside the chamber? Will it hold a pork roast, for example?
Answer: Hi, it's 3.9 inch high inside. I'm not sure how thick is your pork roast but it's sufficient for a meal or two.
Q:
2 questions: Are there any bags included with this sealer? How wide is the seal?
Answer: No bags and it is 11.2 inch wide
Q:
My chamber seal gasket looks to have a small tear. Is this normal? It looks like the seal is one long piece that is glued together.
Answer: This is normal as long as the sealing effect is good. Let me know if you have more questions. Thank you.
Q:
Will a 8 x 12 bag fit in the chamber?
Answer: Yes, you will stacking high to reduce the length.
Q:
Tenemos dudas sobre el funcionamiento nos pueden mandar el teléfono del vendedor ?
Q:
How does this unit turn off?
Answer: Hello, this model of our machine cannot be completely powered off except for unplugging, but the standby power is very low, almost negligible, thanks.
Q:
Hello, is the cv10 works for japan, 100v , 60hz ?
Answer: This is an interesting question. The sealing time might be longer. Yet we haven't tested it. I will not recommend you to buy it for Japan.
Q:
Does this unit operate on 220v as well as 110v?
Answer: no, this one is only for 110V-120V. We have the 220v version to be release in Germany and UK, and are now waiting for the CE certificates to publish.
Q:
Is this machine dual voltage?
Answer: This US standard model is only for 110V - 120V.
Q:
Where is it made in?
Q:
Will this seal the 4.5 mil retort pouches?
Q:
Why are there fake reviews? At least try to make it less obvious.
Answer: I haven't wrote a review. The unit is good as long as you are fine with bags 10 inch or less wide.

Sam Trappett : Pretty good!
Wish the suction was better and the chamber well depth was deeper. Other that that it’s a 10/10
Bill M. : A Premium Home-Use Vacuum Sealer
This isn’t your typical home use vacuum sealer. This is a top-notch home-use vacuum sealer. I would almost consider this a commercial quality vacuum sealer. I think this is definitely one of the best home-use vacuum sealers on the market. We are very happy with this high-quality addition to our kitchen tools/appliances.
However, with that said, it’s important that you know this vacuum sealer is mostly designed to be an internal/chamber vacuum sealer. And it’s also pretty bulky compared to the vast majority of home-use vacuum sealers on the market. It’s roughly 14” by 11” by 8”. And that’s waaay bigger overall than our old FoodSaver vacuum sealer. But, in my opinion, this vacuum sealer is definitely worth the additional kitchen drawer space it takes up.
Our favorite thing about this vacuum sealer is how well it vacuums. It vacuums super hard. When this thing is done, there is zero air left in the vacuum bag. It vacuums so hard that it will start smashing/crushing some foods. BUT, thankfully, the suction time/power is adjustable. And that brings me to our second favorite thing about this vacuum sealer. It’s adjustable. You can adjust the suction time/power, and you can adjust the sealing function, too. The adjustable sealing function is important because depending on the vacuum bags you’re using, you may need a couple of seconds more (or less) of sealing time.
I/we think this is a terrific vacuum sealer. The quality and functionality are pretty close to that of a commercial vacuum sealer. It’s definitely one of the best home vacuum sealer we’ve ever used/seen.
If you have any questions about this Wevac vacuum sealer, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.
A Lowther : The box was handled horribly
So far the unit works well. The box was totally destroyed though. Makes me worried if it will break soon! Update: I have since sent the package back none of my bags were sealing. Not only were they not sealing but when I tried to package wet items it would just go everywhere instead of being able to seal “soup” all my wet items inside my bags it would squirt out and be all inside of the chamber vac.
Belinda G. : Best Vacuum Sealer I’ve Ever Had
I love that I can use any brand or size bag. It’s like an all in one vacuum sealer. My “food saver” vacuum sealer was great for dry ingredients but wet ones not so great. This one is great for both. Wet ingredients do not cause any areas to be and vacuumed. It looks complicated but it’s actually rather easy to use. If you want to seal your bag all you have to do is put your bag inside and the end of your bag that you want to seal you put in the clip at the front then close hit seal then start. If you want to vacuum seal your bag you lay your bag inside, then again place the bottom only end of your bag into the clip. Then close it press smart vac and then start. It gives you options to use small or large bags or you can custom the size of your bags. I mostly just use the smart vac because it takes all of the hard work out of it. I’ve used vacuum sealer‘s for many years and this is my absolute favorite and the best one I’ve had. Highly recommend it.
Chris Barton : A perfect home-use chamber
Received the sealer days ago, definitely the smallest chamber machine I've ever seen. But the power it's got is way better than the food saver sealers I've purchased before. It did well with liquids. I tried to seal up my handmade beef broth. perfect results!
A great advantage is that the machine allows you to use all kinds of vacuum bags, embossed or flat ones. The curved designed chamber leaves no corners so it’s very easy to clean the vacuum chamber than other chamber machines.
The footprint of this thing is a bit larger than my food savers. But it can still fit in my counter top in the kitchen (check the photo comparison of it and my phone).
This machine cost a bit more than a food saver tho, but its worthy every penny. I can now preserve food in a much better way.
Bob W : Perfect!
I've wanted a chamber vacuum sealer for a long time. If you are new to this sort of device, here's a quick rundown of how it is different from an edge sealer like FoodSaver.
The edge device uses special bags with one side embosses with a pattern. This pattern keeps the two layers of the bag separated enough for the vacuum pump to get air out of the bag. It works because the difference between room air pressure and the inside of the bag is reduced. The outside air actually pushes air out of the bag. If you try to seal a bag with soup, you quickly learn that the atomsphere tries to push the soup out of the bag along with the air. Messy!
The chamber device (this one) has the entire bag inside a sealed chamber. The top of the bag goes across a heat sealing bar and one side goes into a clip. The clip not only holds the bag, it makes sure that air can escape. OK, here's the biggie: Instead of reducing air pressure inside the bag, the chamber sealer removes air from the entire chamber. As the pressure goes down, air and only air escapes from the bag. You can vacuum pack a bag of water!
Speaking of that, I put a bag full of water into the chamber and vacuum sealed it. Not a drop escaped! The water was successfully vacuum packed. Cool!
This machine has two modes of operation. It can operate as a chamber sealer and it can also seal the same way the FoodSaver does. This model has a chamber that can hold a maximum bag size of 8 X 10 inches. A quart edge sealer bag is usually 8 X 11. You can use virtually any bag that is 8X10 or less. I bought Wevac chamber sealing bags. They are much cheaper than edge sealer bags. I got 3mil bags. They are fine for most uses. You can vacuum pack small bags too.
Operation is simple, but a little confusing at first. Read the manual!!! It's short and very clear. I let the machine decide how much vacuum and seal time to use. However, you can set it yourself. It took me ten minutes to read and try the sealer.
This is my first chamber vacuum sealer. I love it! The 8X10 capacity is fine for us. This device isn't cheap, but it is worth the price!
Jon H. : Worth Every Penny
For under $300 I say it's a steal. I’ve gotten very nice results in the last week since I have it. It’s powerful, seals good and is airtight. It's a chamber sealer, great for wet food. With the machine, I no longer need to worry about sauce and marinade getting sucked out of the bag. I can also use less expensive bags. In the long run, the cost will get even out, compared to the cheaper suction type vac machines. There is a smartVac program, automatically vacuums and seals based on the bag size. And there is a Customized Vac function that you can set vacuum time. You can also manually adjust the heating seal time, set it longer if you use thicker bags, or if the sealing area of the bag gets wet. You can seal without vac, of which you can make custom size bags from vacuum rolls. You can also seal anything without vacuum: seal your veggies with just regular market produce bags, or seal documents for extra protections.
There is a retractable clip on the front center of the opening, designed as a clamp to hold the lower side of your vacuum bag. Instruction said to “taut and ease the bag into the clip with a gentle but firm back and forth motion”. Do make sure that it is all the way into the inner side of the clip - not half way. On a successful engagement, you can feel the grip from the clip, and the opening of the bag won’t fall out by itself, even before the clip is pushed in. This clip not only helps ensure the bag opening is inside the chamber, it also helps secure the bag so that it won’t fall into the lower part of the chamber. This also eliminates the need of a see-thru top. Which in turn, helps lower the production cost.
There is a marinade mode, which sucks and releases air to help force your marinade into the meat, and shorten the time for the process.
The seal bar is only 10 inches in length. There’s the limitation for the size of bags you may use. Work around is to seal one corner of the larger bag, and make the opening of your bags smaller than 10 inches. I have mixed results on this method, but the machine wasn’t designed to use this way. Still, we are not out of luck just yet, - see below.
The smart design of the machine is that it also does external vacuum and seal. If your item won't fit inside the chamber, vacuum seal it outside, just like a suction style vacuum sealer. As with other suction vac sealers, you need to use embossed bags for this to work. Theoretically there is no limit on the length of the bag that you may use. And, if your item is more than 10 inches in width, you may use gusseted vacuum bags/rolls, embossed type of course. These bags/rolls have 4-sides, folded flat on opening, expendable to hold larger items.
As with all the other chamber vac, this one has its limitations. Such as limited capacity - you have to fit everything into the chamber. Furthermore, it generally takes longer - this is normal as the machine has to work harder to pump all the air out of the chamber, not only the air inside the bag.
The seal bar on my machine came separately tucked inside a hole in the packing material. You may or may not miss it depending on which way you open the box from. Don’t throw away the packing material before you find it. There is a black tap (looks like an electric tap) on top of the seal wire/seal bar. Do not remove that tap.
The machine takes up quite some space on my countertop. It looks sturdy, like a workhorse. How long will it last? I guess time will tell. All in all, I love it. For the money, it is worth every penny.
KAS : Works Great, Small Chamber, But Large Appliance
If you're perfectly happy with your $60 vacuum sealer that uses rolls for the bags, then this vacuum sealer is probably not worth the upgrade. However, if you've started to notice some limitations on that style of sealer (such as sealing wet foods), then this sealer is a happy medium. It's a chamber sealer (great for wet food), has limited capacity, but also has an affordable price tag (compared to other chamber sealers).
What is a chamber sealer:
Your inexpensive vacuum sealers basically suck all of the air out of the bag. They work well-- except on wet food, they start sucking the liquids towards the seal-- and if the area it's trying to seal gets wet first, it's hard to get a good seal. A chamber sealer has you put your bag inside (that's the "chamber" part), then sucks all the air out of the chamber before sealing the bag. After sealing the bag, it lets the air back in so you can open the lid and grab your sealed bag.
Bad things about chamber sealers in general (all are like this, not just this specific one) compared to inexpensive sealers:
1) Limited capacity-- you have to fit your back it he chamber and close the lid. You're not going to seal a whole (or even half) rack of ribs any more
2) Generally take longer: They have to pump all of the air out of the chamber, mot just the air that's inside the bag
Good things about chamber sealers compared to inexpensive sealers:
1) You can do wet foods. Since it removes all of the air out of the chamber before sealing, there's no outside pressure squeezing the bag (and moving the liquids around) before it seals. You can literally seal a bag of water with this thing
2) You can use less expensive bags: Your cheaper sealers use those ridged bags that provide mini channels for the air to move through as it squeezes the bag. This doesn't squeeze the bag, so they make smooth bags for chamber sealers. I'm talking about 1,000 bags for +/- $60 (depending on the size), whereas bags for the other sealers are about double that. (worth noting you can still use those ridged bags with this sealer if you've got them sitting around. It's overkill, but they work just fine)
Bad about this particular sealer:
1) No window to see inside. Some of the pricey models have a glass window. It's cool to watch and you can also tell if you accidentally folded over your bag or something as you closed the lid
2) No built in cutter if you decide to use a roll bag
3) Limited sealing width of 10"... and that'd mean you'd have to double check you lined it all up right. The box says it'll do 10"x13" bags, but my bags are 8" wide and I'd recommend sticking with that
Good about this particular sealer:
1) You can use this as you do your cheaper sealer and leave the bag outside of the chamber, it still takes a bit longer than the cheaper sealers and you're still limited to 10" width, but it works
2) Adjustable settings. You can adjust how long it pulls a vacuum and how long it seals the bag. So if you don't need as strong of a vacuum or have some oddball bags that take more/less time to seal than usual, you can dial that right in
3) Sleek design. Sure, it's still a glorified box, but it looks okay sitting on the counter. It doesn't look like some piece of equipment meant for the garage
4) Marinade mode: I haven't used this yet, but it has a marinade mode where it pulls a vacuum for X minutes, relaxes, then does it again over and over. The idea is that this helps force your marinade into the pores of your meat
Other notes:
1) This is basically as loud as the cheapo vacuum sealers. There's just no way around that. If you're used to other vacuum sealers, this sounds the same
2) It takes up more space than the inexpensive sealers on your countertop or in your pantry. I put a soda can next to it in my pictures to try and give you a scale of the size
3) Don't store anything on top of this-- it has a super squishy rubber seal (which is good), but you don't want to mash that down and have it all flattened out for a long time or it may not seal as well
The Verdict:
I love this, but I also do a lot of juicy meats and foods that cause sealing issues with my old sealer. If I have to do a lot of items or food that is in larger bags, I will still use my old sealer since it has a faster cycle time and can use 12" wide rolls. I've only used this 8 or 10 times so far and the only issue I had was with one bag that creased when I closed the lid and I didn't realize it until after when I pulled it out and it wasn't holding a vacuum. This sealer looks nice, is relatively affordable (compared to the other chamber sealers I have been eyeing for a year or two), and works well. If you're running into limitations with your old sealer and know you want a chamber sealer, then this model is a great one worth your consideration.
Victoria : Makes sealing liquids so easy!!
As a longtime user of the other kind of vacuum sealers, I was excited to give this a try and really test it out.
To be very upfront, it's large. Much larger than my current small countertop version. This does not live on my counter but comes out for big projects.
PROS:
- #1 benefit is sealing liquids. It does such a great job getting all the air out and none of the liquids
- Good suction and seals
- Easy to operate
- Works for large batches (30+ bags at once)
- Keeps food fresh and prevent freezer burn
- Cheaper bag options
- Multiple settings to get it just right
CONS:
- Large size, not super handy for 1 off bags unless you have space
- No pressure gauge, everything is just done based on time
- No window to see what's happening
- I had to tinker with the seal settings to get them to work well on thicker bags
- Slightly slower than my existing one
Overall, I don't know how I went this long without a chamber sealer! The price is harder to swallow but I promise it's really worth it if you do lots of sealing. I make large batches of broth and soups and it's always such a hassle to seal. Not anymore! This device has been working reliably for 4+ months and I've had no issues.

Thomas E. Tweedel : Heavy Duty
I got this hoping for an improvement over my foodsaver vacuum sealer and its crazy expensive bags.
It is an improvement in some areas but not by as much as I was expecting.
Its quite a larger unit. The way that it works is you put the sealing bar in (do NOT remove the tape) , put your food in the bag and then stick the mouth of the bag into unit. This means the majority of your bagged food is out in front of the unit. Keep that in mind with your available counterspace.
Then you close the lid, select your setting and hit go. It can go quick or long, there are some auto settings or your can do it manual for a certain amount of time.
The fact that the food is hanging out in front of and blocking your controls is kind of annoying, they really should have put the controls on top.
It sucks, seals and releases. Standard stuff.
I was expecting a better seal than my foodsaver but it did not deliver. Just as many air pockets. If you have any obstructions (like juices from pouring things in the bag) it can compromise the seal so you have to check it. I used the OEM brand bags.
What advantage does this have against the foodsaver? Custom vacuum time, cheaper bags and a better duty cycle. Its heavy duty and you can run it all day without burning it out (recommend 30 seconds between cycles).
If you’re just looking for a way to seal up some leftovers or the weeks cooking this unit is probably overkill. Its best for people that have a lot of space and are doing large batches. Like processing the seasonal harvest or prepping a bunch of stuff for a group. Maybe avid gardeners, hunters, that lady in charge of food for the church group or caterers. The OEM bags are much cheaper than foodsavers.
