Two-part, self-mixing epoxy sealer can be easily caulked, tooled or brushed into seams and cures in as little as 15 minutes. A neutral beige color, it can even require less topcoat to match OEM appearance.

A Tough, Durable Seam Sealer

3M Bare-Metal Seam Sealer forms a durable seal to overlapping sheet metal with no shrinkage, cracking or outgassing – and lets you apply it efficiently and cost-effectively. The heavy-bodied sealer is formulated specifically to adhere consistently to properly prepared bare metal, such as steel or aluminum enclosures, in collision repair. It is non-sagging and non-flowing, making it easy to apply and tool to shape, for one of the most effective seal and to recreate the OEM seal appearance. It also contains chemical corrosion inhibitors to help prevent rust. This sealer cures in as little as 15 minutes for efficient shop time, and is fully paintable using any automotive paint system. Its neutral beige color can make painting easier and require fewer coats vs. a darker-colored sealer.

Answer: Yes it came with two nozzles

can i use this on on fender flars to stop the cut metal from rusting. And do you know how long it lasts?

Answer: This is made to seal seams between bare metal, like when two panels are spot welded together, then painted over, the seam sealer creates a barrier at the junction between the two panels, for cut metal like your talking about the cuts need to be ground free of any rust and primed and painted to prevent rust from forming again, if you use seam sealer without doing this it will continue to rust under it

Answer: If the cut metal is clean yes it will if you have any rust you need to get rid before you apply the seam sealer. Make sure the area the seam sealer is being applied to is prepped properly after the seam sealer is dried it should be painted for better corrosion protection . Longevity of the seam sealer if applied correctly will last for years

What type caulking works for this cartridge? I have a 3m 08571. Will that work? Thanks.

Answer: same thing

Can i use it on a oil pan ? Can it take temp

Answer: No. Tech data sheet says service temp is -20 to 180 degrees. Used primarily for auto body sheet metal, drip rails, body seams

Answer: No. Just for body panels . New gasket is best. Or if not able to take on that job. Black automotive silicone will help if cleaned properly before application.

Can you primer and paint over this?

Answer: Yes

can this be used between overlapping galvanize sheets?

Answer: I don't see why not, are you making a boat?

Does it require a special gun to squeeze out the compound from the tubes?

Answer: yes, this was the cheapest I could find on here

Answer: Yes. It's really expensive for a one time use. I bought it from eBay for $40 instead. More reasonable but still expensive.

joe taylor : Fixed my Honda civic trunk seam leaks

96-00 Civics are known for seam leaks near the trunk gasket seal. Removed gasket & sanded all visible seams to bare metal about 3/8 width with Dremel & assorted bits,applied 3m 08310 and painted. Finally a new Honda gasket and Perfection !!
