Is the hook detachable?

Answer: no the hook is not detachable at all. but there is is a snap ring that you tie too. or clip on a leader to it..

Answer: the hook is basically a jig head and I am sure you could take it off if you had to but not easily. The hook and lead head is part of the way lure works and it does work well. Thanks Bob

Answer: Hello you could pick up a cheap spoon bait for him the hooks are held on buy a o ring and easy to remove. Have fun my Grand Son has been fishing since 2 and at 5 he really does well. Thanks Bob

Is this the Zman custom chatter bait?

Answer: It's a standard chatterbait from them

I have lost 2 of these after only a handful of casts. they snag on something and they're gone. what am i doing wrong?? really tired of losing them.

Answer: Possibly put a trailer on/over the hook. Small grub tail trailer works best. And absolutely make sure you’ve tied an appropriate knot. If not (not knot), you’ll lose your lures almost every time.

Answer: Use at least 30# braided line

Why are these made in china when the authentic chatterbait is made in usa?

Looking to buy this for my son, what size or oz for bass? He likes to freshwater fish for bass. Something like a 5-8lbs.

Answer: 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2oz all work, but temp, color of water, weather, and depth, will all change what bass will want. Much like color, you have to give them what they want, and if fishing shallow, I don't like the big splash that might spook the fish, but if going deep, you want the bait to get there fast, so go heavy on that deep fish. I use the very light 1/8oz and have caught some over 5lbs, but the bait doesn't hold up to the big fish, not the same way built on the light one.

Answer: No, and I have never needed one, but just get a piece of tubing and make your own keeper, if you feel the need for one.

Answer: the weight straight out the packaging is 11 gm which is great if using finesse tackle 6lb line but if you are fishing heavy cover30 lb lineor heavier it will require some tweaking like using a heavier skirt and a soft bait trailer this can take the weight up to 25/35gm mark but you might lose some action

What ounce and color is good for 6 feet ponds and murky water?

Answer: 3/8 once is a good weight for anywhere. Chartreuse and white is good for murky water. Also grab a chartreuse or white Swimbait or 5 inch worm to put on the back.

Answer: Bright colors work well in murky water. A weighty 3/8 should do the trick.

Answer: I like a1-4oz black and blue, and I would prefer a gold blade if available

I did not get the trailer pictured above. Is it not included?

Answer: I think they used to put them in originally but they have haven't included them the past few years as they figured people used better trailers

Answer: At the time, yes it had a trailer, but I usually use a trailer grub. The legs on the grub create more action and the vibration of the lure itself work great. Sharpen the hook and you’ll be fine.

Do these come with the tails not just the skirts but with the tails ?

Answer: The tails is really the trailer and if it does not show for sale with the product then you need to buy the trailer at your local fishing tackle store.

What size hook on the 3/8

Answer: Not sure, 2/0 or 3/0. Good size thick hook. Caught sever bass in 5 pound range with ease.

Love this bait but wish it had the black blade. Got tired of never catching fish with it so I painted the blade and hook black and immediately increased my catch rate! Fish love this thing now and is my go to lure when the bite is tough.

Love a Chatterbait and this is a great price. Chatterbaits have become my go to baits in replace of most spinnerbaits. When rigged with a trailer, like a swimming minnow/money minnow or Biffle Bug, this thing is killer. You will catch fish on this lure without a trailer, but when a trailer is added I believe it can replace your spinner baits in most circumstances.

I love these chatterbaits. I used to use spinner baits a lot, but I can't remember the last time I bought a spinner bait because I catch more fish on the chatterbait. It does not work in water where there's any kind of moss though. It will pick up every little bit of moss unlike a spinner bait that goes through some.

Your advertisement shows both of these come with a trailer (looks like a split tail worm, white) I got both lures but neither came with the trailers. Great Chatterbait that I have only fished a few times and was able to land this big guy on after just a few times using it. I had a Bass Pro River Bug on the hook as a trailer and this guy took it down.

It gives off a good amount of vibrations while working it through the water and the darker color has worked well in the murky dark ponds I tend to fish around Orlando.

This a spinnerbait, jig, and crankbait all in one. There is no wrong way to fish this bait. You can perform a fast retrieve or a slow retrieve. You can work it like a jig popping your rod tip. You can pull then reel.

In the South, this bait was killer in March and then the bite died off for me during April with this bait. Then, it fired back up in May and June.

I like working this bait in 6-10 feet of water over grass or through channels. I also cast the lure into grass or onto riprap and then work it out.

I like to add a fluke or a craw trailer. If you are getting short strikes, consider shortening your trailer or removing it all together. You can also easily add trailing hooks.

Also, there's no wrong way to tie your line to this lure. Tie it to the blade to feel the rattle. Or tie it to the jig head and let the blade bang against the jig head.

My favorite colors are white/chartreuse with a white fluke trailer and a black/blue with a green pumpkin craw trailer.

I love chatterbaits, but this one bugs me in that the color pattern is reversed when properly rigged. The lure is darker on the bottom than on the top. I feel like that defeats the purpose! Otherwise this works like any chatterbait should...
