Does it auto lock on the final weight?

Answer: Not to my knowledge. In addition to weighing fish, I also weigh pool chemicals. To do this, I add dry amounts about 8 ounces at a time until I get the desired final weight of several pounds. I have never had the scales cease responding during this process. You can press the memory button to save the weight shown on the display. I hope this answers the question.

I have had this scale for a while and tried to trust its readings. I have caught fish and weighed them to be dissappointed in a weight that seemed to be low. Today my son caught a large mouth bass that these scales read as 6 lbs. 14 oz. I knew that the fish was bigger than that so I weighed it again on a platform scale at 8 lbs. 10 oz. The taxidermist's scale read 8 lbs. 12 oz. Do not trust these scales !

I received this scale as a gift, but before I opened it got online to read what kind of reviews it had. Since there were only 2 reviews, Both bad may I say, being the doubting Thomaas I opened the package any way.Thinking that people are just too picky about the way the product should perform,I put it too the test myself. After putting in a new 9 volt Duracll battery, I proceeded to weigh a full bottle of bleach the 3.78 quart size, and it went any wher from 7lbs to 8lbs jumping around as I had it suspended in mid-air.Then after setting it down,it shut off too quickly and when I tried to recall the weight, it showed that the memory was full and was showing a weight of 65.5 lbs. To top it off I tryed to clear the memory and start from scratch,per the instructions, but after about 15 trys, it still would not clear!! I should have taken the other 2 reviewers comments and returned it sooner. Please take now the 3 reviews and sta away from this scale.

LPlot : Some disappointments

The scale turns on and will display the weight of something hung on its' hook.

The memory function does not work at all consistently, a weight is stored about 1 time in 10 pushes of the memory button - I would not buy this scale if I needed the memory function to work.

The scale has a somewhat cheap feel to it and doesn't specifically say that it is water resistant - something that would be nice for a product used around water.

I previously owned one of these scales for over 15 years. Despite some abuse, the scale kept working until it finally gave up the ghost. I checked the new Rapala scale against a highly accurate Chatillon scale and found the two scales agree to the nearest pound. I have no way to check how accurate ounce readings are.

This scale started out working fine. Then it got wildly inaccurate, even before I took it fishing. Repeated shutting off and turning on again sometimes made it work, but only for a while. It is a waste of time and money. Buy a spring scale that is reliable. I would not recommend buying anything electronic from Rapala.

Woodshoe : Accurate but not durable. Not waterproof

Have owned 3 of these. Very accurate when checked with calibrated weights. But none lasted more than 2 years. Took 2 apart, where battery wires enter electronics section is not sealed, Internal corrosion is an issue. Not going back for 4th try! Accurate but early death, not a good game. Switching to Berkley to see if they do better.
