The Aftco HARNESS1BLUE Maxforce I Harness is the ultimate in fishing harness design for fighting big gamefish stand-up style. The combination of lumbar and sit-in pads distributes the load below the hips, allowing the lower body to exert maximum pulling leverage with superb comfort under heavy drag loads. This harness is made of super-comfort molded EVA foam padding with a waterproof lycra polyester cover. The liner is made from synthetic terry cloth, which not only wicks moisture, but has enough "tooth" to keep the harness from slipping around and chafing. Attached to the inside liner is a name and ID tag for quick identification. Included is a mesh bag with grommets for rinsing the harness with fresh water and for easy storage. Otherwise, the Aftco Maxforce I Harness is completely synthetic and machine washable. This harness is adjustable, one size fits most, and the perfect match for 30-lb. to 130-lb. tackle.

I'm almost 70 and have fished since I owned my first tricycle.
Potential purchasers should know this item is not one size fits all and will almost certainly not fit you.
I'm 6 feet tall. 37 inch waist and 190 lbs- this belt is way too big for me but I was able to make it work after some time with a sewing machine.
It appears properly sized for for folks with a 42 inch or larger waist and 230 lbs or heavier. It is not readily adaptable for folks smaller than that without modification and will certainly not fit any normal sized female.
The waist belt has a cheap velcro closure which will not be durable. Instead it should have a YKK adjustable quick release buckle as commonly found on other gear. The provided belt is far too long for me and the excess webbing is an interfering annoyance - I made my own belt with the YKK quick release buckle to tidy things up and add durability.
The adjustable webbing for the reel clips is far too long and you'll probably want to shorten it to reduce tangled junk- I cut 10" off each side of mine and re-sewed the ends. On the plus side, both spring links and fast hookup plain hooks are provided so you've got your choice of how you want to attach to the reel lugs. More experienced users will no doubt choose the plain hooks for both speed and safety reasons.
Speaking of safety, the belt has a rear handle that can used by the mate or buddy to keep a novice or perhaps an experienced angler using heavy gear or in rough seas, from being pulled overboard if off balance. IMO, only fools are in angling or mate positions in the cockpit without a cutter ON THEIR PERSON just in case the worst happens. Years ago, a mate on a local boat was pulled overboard, drowned and body never recovered because he forgot this rule and the leader wrap jammed on his hand when he tried to release it. The culprit was a frisky 500 lb blue marlin and the whole ugly episode was filmed from the bridge of the boat. Hanging a cutter on this belt is possible.
If it fits you, it does have all the needed hookups to allow proper standup use of suitable standup rods (which are normally shorter than a standard length boat rod). The reels on such rods need built in lugs to attach the harness, of course. Far too many modern compact reels that are otherwise suitable for standups cannot be fitted with lugs.
It comes with a mesh bag that can carry the belt and the necessary rod cup (I use the AFTCO Socorro with this belt).
This item needs to be sold only with proper sizing info and the maker should make a series of sizes so all anglers can be properly fitted- this one doesn't come close to being one size fits all and will not fit the makers claimed range without mods of some sort. However, if it fits or can be made to fit you, and you don't mind doing a few upgrades with your sewing machine, its a decent belt.
