how about in the spring/ early summer? to early? a good bait for stripe bass?

Answer: Early Summer should work, my best fishing with them has been early Fall. They should work for Stripers also!

Answer: When the bite is on, YES but if the bite isn't on you might want something that can get a little deeper under the surface.

Casts like a football, even in heavy winds. It takes some practice to figure out the retrieve. The "Red Head" design is great for people trying to learn the "walk the dog" style retrieve.

This lure is hard to beat, although in the later months the big trout usually prefer something a little quieter. But for late summer, early Fall fishing under birds and reefs, Skitter Walk is one of the best.
