overall length?

Answer: I have two 7' rods and I absolutely love them. Very sensitive and plenty strong for the fish I normally catch ( browns, rainbows, kokanee )

Can this rod be used for other types of fishing besides trolling? For example, bank fishing with a float or spinner?

Answer: Probably good for bobber fishing. Might be a little too flexible for casting and retrieving spinners. This rod is really fun to land fish with, lots of action. I Like the light action for trolling for kokanee because the light action eliminates the need for a rubber snubber.

Answer: you can but its not ideal as its a bait casting rod and not a spinning rod. its much more practical to do bank fishing with a spinning outfit.

Answer: I don't see why not, could be paired very well with a spin cast reel for bank fishing, this is not meant for spinning reels. Would not fish heavy cover as these are pretty light action

Answer: I bought the Kokanee trolling rod. Perfect for that application. Not enough backbone for bank fishing, too whippy.

Answer: It's a noodle rod for sure. I would think for bank or float fishing you would want more back bone. This rod would be ok for the lightest spinner, maybe. This is a great Kokanee rod because it's very flexible and koks have soft mouths.

Answer: Actually the rod has enough backbone to toss a light spinner, like a mepps or rooster tail or a light bobber and worm, just not good for something that requires weight to keep the bait on the bottom.

Answer: You could, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is just meant to troll with.

Can I properly use this reel for small catfish?

Answer: This listing is for a rod. You can use a light action rod for small catfish. It should not be an issue.

Answer: Yes, an Abu Garcia Silver Max baicast reel would work. It would work for panfish, trout and smaller bass but is designed for kokanee with a light action.

Answer: Yes, basically an ultra light flexible rod. I have an Abu Garcia Pro Max Low Profile Reel on mine used for trolling for Kokanee at 1.5 mph.

Answer: I would say so. I wouldn't Target bass around cover with it though. It does not have tons of back bone

Is this the kokanee pro?

Answer: The Kokanee black rod is a different model. This model Celilo rod would be the right model in the series for targeting Kokanee rods.

Answer: Yes it is the Kokanee Pro. Very nice rod for kokanee on a downrigger for fish up to 16". Larger than that requires netting and not boosting into the boat. I've caught some 20" kokanee on it but am afraid it might break if boosted, after all it is a light rod. It has a great parabolic curve. Love this rod but I did break one in the boat as I leaned out to grab the release and jammed it against the gunnel. My mistake. But for the price it is a great rod. I have several more expensive rods but I prefer this one.

Are the eyelets all small for levelwind bait casting.

Answer: Yes , The casting models feature casting guides which are low profile and more compact than the guides used on a spinning rod model.

Are the good for mini jigging?

Answer: yes i do not see why not i use mine to troll for trout so they will handle jigging just fine.

Answer: This rod has a fairly light action so it wouldn't be the best choice for jigging. It would work but it is designed for trolling for trout and kokanee.

Answer: Not my first choice. Rod is to limber plus it’s a two piece so more chances of the rod breaking over time.

Answer: It is rated at 4 - 10 # test. I usually run 8# and troll for kokanee. Love the light action. I do not use rubber snubbers and do not lose many fish.

Answer: I use 20lb braid with about 50' of 10lb mono. The mono needs to be changed every year while the braid lasts for years.

Answer: the Celilo casting rod feature a standard size reel seat for conventional reels. You should be able to fit a low profile baitcast reel on there.

I see a made in china sticker on the cellophane wrapping, i was under the impression okuma products where taiwan or usa made. pole made in china?

Answer: It is 2 piece. I have 4 of these rods. Love them.For the price they perform every bit as good as a rod three times the price.

I fish broke this in at Fish lake on 14-18" trout. You could feel every head shake and the action was fantastic. It has a lot of bend but the backbone to steer a fish to the net. I handed the rod off to a buddy with a trout on, saying, "You've got to feel what this rod is like". Since the tug is the drug for fishermen (and woman), this amplifies the experience in a really great way. I can hardly wait to put it to use on L. Washington cut throats and on some of the Kokanee lakes. Paired with a sewing machine smooth reel and you will not be disappointed

Used this rod 3 years before I broke one being dumb. Perfect flex to get it out of the down rigger clip yet absorb head shakes and get em in the boat. For the price can't be beat. I'm buying another one to replace the one I broke.

Ordered two rods. One showed up completely missing the top section. The other rod appeared ok. Until I ran the line threw the eyes and started to spool up my reel. Then the tip snapped cleanly between the 2nd and 3rd eye. Amazon took them Back and I got my replacements. Packaging was horrid on both orders. Two loose halves of the rod in a bag. Then chucked in a over size box to bang Around the whole way to me. The replacements look and feel good. Did some casting in the yard to test the rod for defects. Going fishing Sunday with them. I’ll write another review then.

I use this rod trolling for Kokanee and trout from my kayak. The soft action is great for helping to keep them hooked while I use braided, no stretch line. The dark color makes it harder to notice bites from your peripheral vision (I like blue, white, etc.), but the inherent nature of trolling means the instant notice doesn't really matter much.
