What is the lure weight rating?

Answer: So i bought the BSS1202MHS mine says 1-6 oz lure rating

Answer: Actually, absolutely not. 20 pounds may be able to be supported as far as dropping the line directly down into the water with a weight on it is concerned, but this is not the same as casting a line. Most rods that are 12 feet and of a medium-heavy rating, for example, will cap at a half pound (six ounces) lure weight for casting or else you risk breaking the tip of the rod off, hence the bad reviews blaming the rod. It's mostly inexperienced or unskilled casual fishermen trying to do the impossible with a product that has obvious limitations based on simple physics. Hope this helps.

Answer: When I am cat fishing from the river banks, I use a10 or 15ft.

Answer: All I can tell you is that I cut 16” off a 10 foot pole and add a roller tip and use it for goggle eye bait fishing, I use a 16 to 24 oz sinker Dropping in 100 to 250 ‘ and it is the best pole. Tip is a little light for this type of fishing but a lot of my friends use it as is

Answer: It's a surf rod, hence the name "Daiwa Beefstick SURF Rod"...but you can use any reel on it. Remember, spin and cast are 2 types of Reels.
