product description
The Prime Bucktail Jig is not like any other jig on the market. The unique shape of the head and placement of the eyelet help bring this lure to life. With bulging eyes, holographic finish, and blazing color, it puts fish at your mercy. The uniqueness of this bait is that it doesn’t fall or hang straight down like other bucktails. It glides through the water, almost swimming along. When jigged, its body stays almost parallel to the bottom maintaining a very natural appearance. Like all SPRO products, Prime Bucktail Jigs are made with durable, super sharp Gamakatsu hooks. Once you fish it, you’ll know why SPRO is the shape of things to come. It’s hard to fish the Prime Bucktail wrong. It can be jigged off the bottom for weakfish, fluke, or other saltwater fish. Cast it at schooling fish working it quickly back to the boat for cobia, stripers, snook, or dolphin. Swim it along in freshwater for big bass and walleyes, or troll it for reservoir stripers. It’s hard to find somewhere that the Prime Bucktail won’t work

Questions about Spro Bucktail Jig-Pack of 1
Q:
What is the weight of this jig.
Answer: It's somewhere from 3/8 oz to couple oz depended upon your selection
Q:
Would these be good for fresh water fish?
Answer: Throw 1/2 to 1 oz into spillways for whiper. I usually fish a dead minnow on the back with good results. Good luck.
Answer: I never used these for fresh water I usually use crank baits and spinners baits for fresh water. I have a strong feeling you could catch some bass with a 1/2 spro (chartreuse) and a soft plastic (Zoom Fluke) if you work the bait right.
Answer: I've only used them in salt water. I would imagine that a 1oz white color could produce some results if you're targeting Small/Large mouth bass. Good luck!

david b. : Spro is the best with SS hooks
Spro with stainless hook are the best but to much money These glo spros do NOT glo I bought them for glo and they don’t glo I was robbed
Jose Montalvo : Looks good.
Son liked it, didnt catch much but looked great in the water.
DeeNajjEeOh : Razor sharp hooks and killer colors!
Throw a Gulp grub on the end and slay some fish! You can catch pretty much anything on a Spro bucktail as long as you pick the right color and size. I personally like a white bucktail with a white or nuclear chicken gulp.
chris Orphanides : Great lure
Swims well
R. M. Barge : This is a great bucktail for flounder fishing
This is a great bucktail for flounder fishing, which is how I use it. But it has a problem, which is, the eye is not big enough for a double-width of leader. For anyone who wants to use a looped rig, it cannot be done with this jig.
AC : Five Stars
Great buck tail, looks very lifelike. I just wish I was better at fishing.

Rafael Santana : E
Good
Jeffrey Lomprey : Five Stars
Awesome
J.R : Fluke Killers!!
These are great bucktails, they are strong and are designed to look natural in the water. These bucktails are great for Weakfish, Fluke and Flounder. Occasionally Striped Bass will hit these jigs as well. If fishing in shallow water or close to shore I recommend a 1 oz to 1 1/2 oz weight. If fishing on a party boat or charter boat I recommend a 2 oz to 3 oz weight just so that you will be able to hold bottom. I mainly use the trusty chartreuse, pink, or magic bus accompanied with 3 or 4 inch gulp swimming mullet.
Captain Eric G : Hair loss
Looks GREAT! But the hair is coming out before I even put it in the water.
fred riefner : Catching nice flatties on these spros
These "new type" of bucktails ate awesome. Never had any luck with old type but I take these out to the artificial reefs off of ocean city md on the morning star party boat and I have caught my Flounder limit 4 times in a row. I use them on a high low rig, 4 ounce on the bottom and the 1 ounce on the top. Using gulp & a strip of cut bait is the ticket to catching these flatties. The black sea bass are also attracted to the Spros too.. Of course captain Monty should get some credit for putting us over the fish. Can't wait to get out there again. Just hope the fish are still there!
david b. : Spro is the best with SS hooks
Spro with stainless hook are the best but to much money These glo spros do NOT glo I bought them for glo and they don’t glo I was robbed
Jim in Pa : Always the go to rig for Fluke
Best Fluke rig
Michelle J. : Looks great, can’t wait to use it this weekend
Looks good, I got the 2oz and it’s pretty huge. The locals here off the east coast of North Carolina swear by these spro jigheads 2oz with a 4in gulp shrimp for flounder. One thing for sure it’s gonna have to be decent flounder to suck this down
Patrick V. : Great
Good colors and quality material
mgem2x : i love using this
on a bright clear night, i love using this, lots of people don't have a clue about this lure especially the fact that it glows in the dark. These fish just trail the hell out of this lure, no matter how shallow the water gets. I just add a nice trailer tail on its back and Im good to go.
